Guys, i'm interested in buying a new keyboard, i've been using Razer Lycosa for 3 years+ now.
After buying the Steel Series 7H headphone, which i'm quite happy with the performance.
Except for how fragile it is, the left earphone doesn't work sometimes and i have to wiggle it a bit.

BUT anyway, i seem to develop an emotion for Steel Series products and i want to buy the 7G Keyboard.

My question is, IS IT worth the RM500 price-tag?
Are there any problem i should be worried?
Is it that much better than the 6GV2?

Thanks for all the help smile.gif

Actually 6Gv2 and 7G difference is just the additional ports + big wrist rest.
If you just want normal keyboard without all the ports,  and also the 7G wrist rest, can give you this option:
Buy a 6Gv2, then search on taobao for the 7G wrist rest, for your information, the 6Gv2 fits perfectly on the 7G wrist rest, total up the price would be <RM500....

omg great idea, is taobao an online or physical store??

BTW is this right? i found a 6Gv2 costing around RM450 in a store yesterday
but i expected it to be RM300 since u know its $100 USD.

where did u get yours and how much?

6Gv2 for RM450 is kinda pricey tho'. My last visit to Viewnet or is it ALL IT (can't remember) @ Lowyat Plaza selling it for RM399, IINM.

p/s: You can't compare the price u found in overseas and Malaysia. Overseas mmg can get cheaper price, plus minus the shipping, distro/seller's profit and also warranty wise. Better be safe to actually buy from local stores. Unless you don't mind the warranty policy.

i see, yeah RM400 is more like it.

Today i had to turn in my 7H again.

Last-time the mic does not working

and now the cable is faulty so the left earphone doesnt make any sounds.

Is this like a common problem for the 7H, i see a lot of ppl get this problem by googling it.
I hope the 3rd pair will be the lucky pair that last, if doesn't then give up 7H and go to siberia V2.

Did you guys have any problem like this with other SS headphone models?

I hope their mouse is built better,
buying the Xai very soon XD.

planning to go full on with the 9HD mousepad also, does it make a diff??
or is it just like marketing thing, says the HD was built for the Xai. :S

do you keep dismantle your headphone often?
xai is good..
pad is self preference, if you like hard then 9HD
if not just go for the QcKs
*
no i don't, never dismantle it. use it mainly at home.

owh is it? i see, cool thanks.

if ppl ask me which SS headphones to buy

i would prolly point them to siberia V2
I dont have a siberia but a friend of mine had his for 1.2 years already no problem soo far

i bought the 7H, hoping that they were durable
and and they break after like a few months

1st was mic stop working
then cable malfunction which makes the left earcup not working
also when you hang the headphones by the "arc" the earcups hang outwards which looks quite worrying...

im hoping the first 2 are just unlucky ones that breaks early, and the 3rd one will be a good proper SS quality that wont break after a few months

just my 2 cents :S

just wondering
is ur SS 7G bought on first batch?
*
i doubt it, it cant be that new is it? I bought it last year on June before the 1st two RMA

QUOTE(XaViErX @ Feb 2 2012, 09:05 PM)
Mine got crack on the arc ( the part connecting with the earcups ) on the 2nd day.. I tried RMA-ing it but got rejected.. They gave me the damage is too minor for replacement and can't guarantee other units don't have it as the reason..  doh.gif My seller told me 1 of his customer RMA-ed the 7H 5 times for the same reason - 1 side of the earcup no sound.. The build quality of 7H is pretty bad..
*
yeah i kinda regret buying the 7H, should've done some research.
I always assume the best product a brand can give is reflected by the price. :S
if the 3rd one is no go also, im just gonna go with the Siberia V2s.

QUOTE(xandman @ Feb 2 2012, 09:52 PM)
ur feedback i much appreciated bradda man!
i almost bought the 7H!

Added on February 2, 2012, 9:54 pm

and thanks you too for sharing your experience!
so 7H is a no-go for me!
*
no problem.

ON a side not, im planning to buy a SS keyboard.
2 choices are 7G and 6Gv2, seeing how the 7H handles and siberiav2 performs.

im leaning towards the 6Gv2 but i wanna hear it from u guys.

anyone hear bought and used the 7G and/or the 6Gv2.

happy with the purchase??
any problems i should be worried abt?

7G comes with wrist rest and usb audio jacks ports, 6gv2 just plain nothing but keyb tongue.gif

im using 7G no prob so far, everdying is also using 7G, i think HELLkeeper is 6GV2.

not many complains about this two keyb iirc
*
how long have u been using the 7G?

yeah the wrist rest is why im also considering the 7H.

Something different from the normal mouse and keyboard

thats looks awfully uncomfortable.

reminds me of the wii, where i have to constantly stretch my arm out.

unless i can recalibrate it so that the default stance is when my arms are resting on something.
