Shifters will have more difference in terms of feel than derailleurs. IMHO, save the money with a Deore RD and spend it on XT shifter.

Err... I think you got that brake part wrong boss. Pressing the rear brake will bring the nose down. Pressing the front, should be the same, just with more intense?

To bring the nose up, usually on MotoX it's to blip the throttle. But in MTB case, pedal like a mofo mid air to get the same gyroscopic effect? LOL

Again, a well tuned FR & RD will avoid that. If it's well tuned, then you got some serious frame flex going on there, since you say you're not exectly light.

There are many HT frames capable of taking 140~160mm travel upfront. Transition TransAM, Giant STP and err... umm... err... Xand will kill me for this, but Banshee too. sweat.gif
