i guess in the end, its all up to you. i had an option to get the Banshee MKI at a reduced price. yes the Legend is an awesome bike with a low BB and low head angle but all i can think off was Sam Hill in Follow Me. hence i got the Demo. kena racun baik

So you re saying a Banshee/OnOne is something like Proton...and Specialized/Giant are Honda...BMW? Honestly I dont know...cause I NB

And you re saying the Magazine review are impartial ...and we can rely on their feedback....

Ok ....

*
What I am trying to say is...
Yeah... some companies pay magazines and internet sites to review their bikes.
Some don't.
Some pay money to advertise, some more stingy in doing so.

But at the end, a world champion can't win just because he has good reflexes and big balls. The equipment plays a bit if not a lot.

Some companies have 2 engineers... some have 1000.
So... go figures.

Why we keep telling new comers to don't bother which brand to buy when their budget is RM2k and below? Coz cheaper version bikes don't go through the engineeering part of it. They just use standard design.

But at higher end bikes, a lot of hours put in. It might not suit everyone... but surely has gone through many thoughts.

I'd still buy trek.

If u plan to keep this bike for long and not planning to upgrade in near future... Go get an Giant XTC 1 or something or Trek 6000 or Scott scale 40 or so.

If u just planning to test the sport out... Just get something cheap. Coz all the bikes u mentioned above have no potentials of parts upgrade or frame upgrade.

Meaning... If u think of keeping the frame and upgrade components... U will die poor.
If u plan to upgrade frame with the current components... U will not do it at the end coz all those attached components sux!

Merida is the worst choice...
