Any ex-students here who took YTN loan / scholarship last time?
Got something to ask

I got a letter from them stating the payment back to them start from which month. But then from now until the mentioned date, am I still bonded under YTN?

after you end your final semester, you must get your transcript and 'lapor diri' within 1 month which if you dont do it, it will breach contract and must pay lumpsum.

After lapor diri, and you get the confirmation that you have done it, your information will be automatically submitted to HR tnb and you would be having a grace period(gp) of 6 month. during this period, they will/will not call you for interview for a job in tnb. if you successfully work for tnb or its anak syarikat, you dont have to pay at all to tnb. if not, then you can freely join any other company u want and start paying.

for your question, i believe that you still in your grace period. theoretically, you are still bonded under ytn and you cant work for another company yet. but, if you still want to, you can. just dont sign any official contract for permanent job.

I 'lapor diri' already, and if I'm not mistaken my grace period is until end of January 2013. So far I did not get any calls or email from TNB or YTN regarding job interviews, but some of my friends who are under YTN got it. As I know, PEP interview for TNB is already in 2nd stage. Does that mean I will be released? As I've mentioned in the previous post, I received a letter stating that I can start repaying my loan starting February 2013. Does that mean I am released, or do I still have to wait until the grace period ends?

if you said PEP is already in 2nd stage, i think most probably you are free coz no more PEP intake will be held in your grace period again. Yet, i've heard rumors that tnb have backup plan calling their 'loaners' in case the intake didnt resolve the job demand. eg: 300 + 40 intake. The +40 would be a last minutes. however it is something that i've heard, donno if true or not. if it is, it might happen once in a blue moon.

extra info: during your paying period (for example, 7 years), you still can find job with tnb or its anak syarikat if you want to, and you dont have to pay the standing payment while the payment that you have made will be return after the contract ends.

Its best if you confirm this issue with ytn to get a very clear info. huhu.

sometimes the offered subjects change during the registration period .

i also got a question about this special sem . this is my last foundation sem , can i take special sem or not ?

because i got the email fro the register's office stating that i need to choose my degree program for the special sem,

but one of my classmates said we cannot take it , is this true or not ?


and how can get into CS degree program ? because i didnt take CS foundation
