Steamer is not new. However, it was introduced a few eras after the iron. Generally, steamers are often used by fabric boutiques instead of irons.

I'd suggest you to go for neither the iron nor the steamer. Try to get both; the iron and also the steamer. I have one at home. The brand is not really recognized, but it does work good and well till now. Mine is 3-in-1; iron, steamer, and a face steamer. I think stores like Cosway have it for sale. It won't cost you more than RM200
