I have super oily skin blush.gif . Also sensitve skin - tried a doctor recommended gel which contains alcohol and my skin started peeling a lot. Have been using Dermalogica products since I was young...for about 10 years now (mom sponsored).

Now that I've just started working, I want to switch to a cheaper range of products. Dermalogica didn't work well for me...skin still oily and feels very course. I was afraid to try other brands cuz afraid it's too harsh for my skin.

Which products suit (super) oily and sensitve skin? Also where to buy them? I'm really not aware of these kind of things tongue.gif

Thanks for your reply. What kind of supplements are you taking? I've visited a skin doctor and he's giving me some pills to take. He says it's antibiotics but I believe it's more than that (probably hormones or something). Good thing is, I no longer have breakouts after taking those pills. But too bad, my skin is still as oily and sensitive as ever!

I want to change the products I use (just the basic cleanser, toner, moisturizer and the occassional masque) cuz I don't want to waste my hard earned money on something that doesn't even work well. Anyone can please recommend products that's suitable for sensitive skin? With oil-control properties would be best biggrin.gif

Wow..Simple Skincare looks promising. Mostly natural ingredients and non-harsh chemicals. Will certainly give this a try. Thanks!

I know finding the right cleanser/moisturizer will not be an easy task since what works for one may not work for another. This should start me off nicely smile.gif

Hi dear, I'm sorry abt ur skin condition. Regarding yr skin problems, there's no hard and fast rule to improve it. Some skin care might work for some people and some might not. So yes, u have to first do some trial and error to know which one works best for u. Here i list down some of the product i've tried and tested.

1. NeoStrata

This one is good for oily and acne prone skin. You have to consult doctor. Can get only from clinic through doctor's consultation. A product from US.

2. EPI Dermal Formulation

It is a skincare product u can get through EPI agent. They only sell it at their own beauty centre. One centre that is good is Vcare Taman Tun, KL (Same row as Popeye's, above Sri Paandi). Owner not pushy. Facial is also good there.

3. Mary Kay

Skin care product from US. Only sold through direct selling. First u need to book skin care class with the beauty consultant and she will come to yr house/workplace to demonstrate so u can try all the product range yrself. For age below 25 y.o, botanical skincare set is enough. It is mild and gentle. If the beauty consultant push u to get timewise miracle set (anti-aging) dont buy from the person (unless ur age is above 25). She just want to make money as this range is double/triple the price of the botanical skincare set.

Added on September 25, 2011, 1:09 amoh, another point is, if your skin is OILY but SENSITIVE, it means yr skin is dehydrated inside, thus make it 'oily' on the outside(surface). So, harsh chemical product is a NO-NO as it will make yr skin become more irritated and sensitive. u need to balance off and hydrate yr skin as well eventho it is oily.

Hi dear. I hope im not too late to reply to you. I feel so sorry that after you used your doc's gel, your skin began peeling. Its because the gel contains alcohol and alcohol causes a mild burning sensation to the skin when being applied. Oily skin, if not taken care properly will tend to be dehydrated and sensitive on the surface. Our skin produces natural oil called sebum to protect our skin surface and to act as a protection barrier. Why we have oily skin varies from individual to individual. Genetics could be one of the main contributing factor one has oily skin. Skin care regime is also important as to how many times you cleanse your face, the skin care you use, others such as diet, lack of exercise, too much exposure to air conditioner all play an important part in determining the condition of our skin.

We at Amary's Closet has helped many individuals to overcome acne skin, redness and sensitive skin and scars resulting from acne. We would like to extend our help to you in helping you overcome your skin concern thus enabling you to look your best without burning a hole in your pocket.

Do refer to our URL http://amaryscloset.blogspot.com for more info or you can pm me for a more in-depth and private discussion about your skin conditions. Thank you and have a nice day.

i think u have da same skin condition as mine...mine is very oily + extremely sensitive as well......have seen many skin specialists n doctors since young.....sad.gif

ok well...i can say tht my skin now is better (as compared to last time).....since u have oily skin + sensitive skin....i would recommend you to use milk soothing cleanser...if u do not know which milk cleanser is good...u can always ask da beautician...coz the r da professional....for me, im using milk cleanser from methode swisse, bought from a beauty centre......

i blief tht ur surface skin is dry u have strong internal oil sebum...thts y when ur face is dry...ur internal body will release out all da oil to moisturize it, thts y oily skin (dis is wat doctor n beautician told me)...so i suggest u shud use hydrating moisturizer to hydrate ur skin.....hydrating gel moisturizer works da best ^^..im currently using Dr. G gel moisturizer..bought from sasa...smile.gif

* u do not need to buy da whole range of skincare products under da same brand....sometimes mix n match from diff brands will give a better result (based on m experience)....smile.gif

hope m info is useful for u smile.gif

Hi Dear
I experience the same condition exactly like yours but it changed after i switch to use jojoba oil as moisturizer. Jojoba oil able to balance up oil production of our skin to make oily skin less oily and dry skin more hydrating. This is because its texture is similar to human skin sebum and this can fool our skin that the oil production is enough.

My skin getting more radiant and smooth after using it. Highly recommend.
Furthermore, the jojoba i am using is not expensive 118ml for RM59.90, can last for at least 1 year

Well, I switch brands a lot... Here's my 2 sen:

1) Used to use Avene's Cleanance-K series. I would rate it 7.5/10.
Pros: Excellent for sensitive skin (like mine) as it doesn't make my skin flare up
Doesn't dry my skin out
Controls my sebum production and shine (only if I use the anti-shine regulating lotion)
Keeps my breakouts under control!

Cons: Freaking expensive sad.gif

2) Switched to the Oxy brand of facial wash recently; using a mix of the blue and green one; I alternate them in a day- i.e. blue in the morning, green at night- nowadays pok gai already cos not working as im studying, so have to be on small budget now. Would rate it 7/10

Pros: Does not dry skin out
Controls breakouts and blackheads well with just the wash only
Surprisingly doesn't flare my skin up!
Very cheap

Cons: Not very good at sebum/oil control

3) Clinique- worst of the lot. Rate it at 1/10.

Pros:
Bottle looks really nice

Cons:
Dries my skin
Makes me overproduce sebum/oil (probably BECAUSE of the skin drying)
Makes me break out
I'm allergic to it- I break out in red rashes all over especially on sensitive cheek spots! Wtf!
Super expensive!

4) Purenavi cleansing gel- 9/10. Discovered this Jap brand thru a promoting agent in Singapore who gave free samples. Tried it once and never wanted to let go of it.

Pros:
DOESN'T dry skin out
Super excellent sebum/oil regulation with just the cleanser! Best of the best!
Okay control of breakouts and blackheads
Contains zero parabens, colours or fragrances- and it's so mild and gentle that my skin loves it to bits!

Cons:
NOT very cheap. One120g tube is about SGD 12, which is about RM 28. But then again, you only use about a 20-sen coin size for each wash. A little goes a long way.
Not readily available in Singapore, let alone Malaysia. I have to go to a specific store (ALT) in Singapore to get it. Seems like no other suppliers stock it. Doh. Also, when I DID buy it, they had VERY little stock left (I bought one of the last few remaining tubes wtf.)

Hi you may want to try to work from within by building up the cells and accelerate the process of healing.
Try Vitamin C with hyaluronic acid, collagen & life cell EGF it works very fast with consistent treatment within 6-8weeks

Try beauty nutritional drinks as it works the skin from inside and I have been using the facial care called Miracle Tab for 2 years. The soap is marvellous and the latest product HD advanced whitening fluid will show results within a few days of consistent application.

Good luck! \
