QUOTE(MR_alien @ Sep 19 2011, 03:51 PM) QUOTE(dagreatdzul @ Sep 19 2011, 03:52 PM) 195 50 is wider and the thickness is lesser.better handling and stability 185 55 is less wider and the tyres is thick.good for comfort.. QUOTE(Cyphereza @ Sep 19 2011, 03:58 PM) 195 is the tire wide in mm. 50 is percentage of thickness from the wide measurements. So, 195 50 has 195mm wide and 97.5 mm thick. Remember, thicker means larger radius or circumference. Will affect the speedometer. QUOTE(+Newbie+ @ Sep 19 2011, 04:12 PM) Actually no. My M-Line BLM uses 185 60 R14 thanks for the info guys..Yes. the 195 is width in mm. The 50 is the tire profile which is a ratio of tire sidewall vs tire width in percentage. Yes, it will improve handling. And yes it will affect speedometer readings. Anything more than 3% difference should not be allowed. But there there are 2 more impacts of a bigger diameter:- 1) Slower acceleration and 2) higher fuel consumption. well.. for now i feel comfort with my new rim and tyre 185 55 now.. it looks also fine.. feel like want to snap pic and show off.. can ha? |
