What was meant is the lamps are hotter compared to other cars i.e Exora,City etc. If its normal ok then, just seemed to be hotter than usual, then again I never drove cars with similarly large lamps.
*
hmm..not sure how hot is hotter
but it is normal to be hot
and if u open it long enough or stay stationary ...it should be hotter than your car moving
and somemore FL and FLX's headlamp comes in smoked...which mean black inside
so i think it should be hotter

Yar lor...engine oil leaking is serious problem......if oil level falls below minimum level, then you need to tow your car already or risk spoiling your engine....

Are FLX/FL headlights are usually hot when on?

Mine is and i'm afraid it will drain much of the battery chemical energy due to energy being lost in form of light and heat. Normal or not?
*
Our bulbs are halogen lah, that's why it is hot.

QUOTE(Matrix @ Sep 14 2011, 01:44 PM)
More dramatic mah... brows.gif ...hmm...seems like lots of issues with new Saga FLX... Proton should have handle the case more seriously. After went public then only try to fix problem....even if problem is fixed, reputation already tarnished.

An Update on latest DIY :

Good News is : Got my ordered set of Denso Iridium Spark Plugs earlier sent by Bro Drex!

Then me removed the 4 small bolts/screws holding down the Engine Cover. Cld see the row of 4 COP & their respective power supply cables & connectors.
One more but long bolt holding the first COP was removed & the COP was pulled off to expose the Spark Plug.

Now the BAD News: The spark plug is deep deep down a rather long cylindrical tube!! Not reachable by the Spark Plug socket that me got... doh.gif
Had to "surrender" on this DIY project... sweat.gif

Really caught UNprepared cos had nvr faced such a deeply embedded spark plug... rclxub.gif

So...unless me go buy slim type spark plug socket wrench, it looks like gotta do the changeover to the new Iridium plugs when send for nxt service (5k Km one almost due) @my local SC. rolleyes.gif

Try using iso-propyl alcohol (alcohol swaps) or WD40? Works in my case... wink.gif
*
Be careful, guys. WD40 will eat away the paintwork. I think best to dab a bit of Ronsonol (lighter fluid) onto a cloth and rub away the glue. Try not to pour it onto the paintwork.

Jam at MRR2 Taman Melawati till Keramat... spotted so many FLXs. SO many of them are Elegant Brown somemore. lol

Today I drove all over PJ SS2, S16, 17 and Sri Hartamas, only saw 1 FLX. It's not so common yet.

QUOTE(zeone @ Sep 14 2011, 11:24 AM)
Battery failure very common for BLM/FL. Now even FLs?
My bro-in-law's BLM SE battery failed within 1st week of use in town!! Called SC & threatened to go public via media! SC mechs came & changed batt on the spot!! Phew! doh.gif

My own batt also came with loose +ve terminal!! Luckily I did my own checking after delivery AND tightened it...or else I wld hv been stranded very soon after! Radiator coolant & w/shield washer water also much below Max level (still ok tho - in no danger of car failure)
Felt all these due2 POOR Pre-Delivery inspection service carried out, if any!!! mad.gif

Feel we must hv basic knowledge of car parts & functions so can carry out our own chks when need to. True?
*
I better go check mine, too.

I think maybe it's because the FLX headlamp's glass surface area is big, hence easier to feel the heat? Just my theory. Anyway, all bulbs give off heat. Except for LEDs with less heat.

hey all...

planning want to install :

1. a fog lamp since my standard FL doesn't come with it...search at mudah.my http://www.mudah.my/Saga+fl+fog+lamp-11049172.htm ..Not sure how much it is the Proton's original fog lamp.. Surely that (accessories shop item ) won't have a good quality right? blink.gif

2. a turbo timer to keep my engine idle once i stop from a long distance travel...i have read previous thread about this turbo timer ..got a friend sell (new) turbo timer cost around RM68..He said it's not a really ORI (brand APEX like a small long pencil style). So, any advice about it? icon_question.gif

3. Proton's R3 light weight sport rims. Never had info about those rims...Any info on pro's and con's? heard that rims cost around RM2k++... looks pretty cool since it looks like a Nissan R35 sport rims... tongue.gif

Don't u guys think that Saga FL's suspension (with Lotus Ride Handling) pretty good at cornering? Even a Myvi tackle corners macam mau terbalik rclxms.gif ohmy.gif but still those Myvian dared to take a corner with speedy shocking.gif ....So,i think no need to change unless if want to lower it down or just change spring or something ..!?

During raining time ( especially heavy rains) i noticed my rear mirror having a poor visibility. Normal kaa tu? thought i want to install a rear wiper ....keh keh keh tongue.gif biggrin.gif

any info on Saga BLM or FL or FLX automatic flip side mirror like a 1.5 honda city has?

1. better get the original part from proton
2. i agree with SiuYi, waste of petrol nod.gif
3. u can refer to this website, http://www.proton.com/Motorsports/R3-Accessories.aspx#Saga icon_idea.gif

about the suspension, i can feel that more stiffer than persona's, but persona able to get better cornering for me...
i was thinking to lower down the suspension to reduce air force under the car flex.gif

my flx also facing this problem, during rain, difficult to see rear window, maybe due to the aero dynamic design... hmm.gif

and about the flip side mirror, i was looking forward to install that too, but couldn't find any yet... laugh.gif

He dint say specifically for Saga FLX, only "MALAYSIA DAY OFFER FOR NEW PROTON CARS!!!"

Those 2 years free service normally for low volume cars like Inspira.

i dn't think is a waste of petrol for the turbo timer
it's just waste of money
when you're abt to off the engine..make sure your radiator is not ON
if not when u wanna start it....u'll need to crank exactly 3 times be4 the engine is on
and that waste petrol as well
