Entry level HU won't provide equalizer except bass and treble setting, the Pioneer HU mostly will give u extra 'mid' to adjust only. You need mid price HU which pricing at >600 to get so basic 5 band equalizer.
*
I come from "old school" of thought where "equaliser" etc are waste of money. If the SQ is top grade, all u need is fader control for front/rear speakers. A clean amp should be able to provide SQ to feed all speakers.

If u look at those high-end home amps, all they have are 2 knobs: volume and L-R balance control. smile.gif

QUOTE(coolkwc @ Sep 26 2011, 02:55 PM)
At car if you want to get top grade SQ without equalizer adjustment, is just impossible.

Dun compare car with home stereo, at car listening position and space, door condition, sound proof level all will affect the SQ.

Provided you have a top amp and top speaker, without equalizer and proper sound proof, is just a piece of junk.

Why i know this? Because i heard a car with 20k SQ setup, HU is Aphine top model, he is a soundproof and SQ expert in Johor Area (Famous Audio).

What i want to tell is those highend car HU all come with more than 10 band EQ, is details EQ, if it is waste of money, they won't include it at all.

Somemore, car SQ setup need time alignment function HU, front/rear fader is just useless becos normally SQ is without rear speaker, and u need proper sond proof for your car. I think seriously you need to update your ICE knowledge before jump into that, else just waste of money.

Anyway, you can discuss SQ setup in ICE subforum, read the thread posted by 'Mr Wong'. wink.gif
*
In a way you contradict yourself. You already said that a sound stage is almost impossible to create inside a car cabin due to location of speakers at the front door (near the legs??) among other factors, so no amount of equalising or soundproofing will help. Meaning u can spend 10K for your equaliser and another 10K for your speakers but place them at your feet and you have lost the soundstaging. Remember that mids to highs are directional meaning they have to be placed equi-distance from your ears.

Hence the next best thing are 2 good rear speakers. That's why good speaker manufacturers like Dynaudio tend to keep things simple. All those equalisers etc are what I call "Christmas tree" effect, very Ah Beng-ish. If that's your preference, so be it.

And I won't even go into soundproofing. Has any one ever measured the decibel output before and after soundproofing? If you drive a Hilux pickup, why waste money soundproofing it? I think a lot of it is what some folks here call the "placebo" effect. If you're a true believer in soundproofing, you might want a Lexus to start with.

OMG... just now my FLX give me a shock of my life. cry.gif cry.gif

I was turning into Kampung pandan (Aminuddin Baki) and suddenly the CVT Warning light comes on!!!!!!!!! OMFGGGG!!!! The gearbox is like just jammed at 1,800rpm and the speed just stay at constant 40km/h. No matter how much throttle input, the speed and rpm just wont raise. Stopped by roadside and turn off engine a while then start back. Warning light gone and got home safely without any unwanted incidents.

sad.gif
*
Hmm, I think if Proton is anywhere as responsible as Toyota etc, they should issue a recall of CVT and fix the problem before anyone gets into an accident. Imagine this happening on the highway at 110kmph?

All this talk about over- and under-steer.
Since when Saga become like Felali? doh.gif

Remember 1st and foremost, Saga is a family car and meant to be driven like one. Drive safe, live long and prosper.

That's quite affordable but I noticed it is NOT a CD Player?

An Update re question abt OEM ABL asked earlier in thread re :

"Does the Alarm Reset Button still work to reset the alarm when it's triggered & sounds?"

Answer :

Yup, it does!

Juz tested it earlier while doing my DIY LED boot lights. UNintentionally tho. Accidentally pressed the Panic Button on my remote.
Alarm sounded.  sweat.gif
Put key into ignition. On ignition. Pressed Reset Button.
Alarm deactivated!  rclxms.gif

Thanks, zeone. That's what I was hoping for before I make a visit to shorty's place.

no offense, but have you ever properly test drive the FLX and let alone own one?

Prior to owning the FLX, I used to drive a Honda CRV and therefore I know the difference between a conventional auto transmission and CVT.

engine braking and better car response can instantly be felt and cant simply be replaced by placebo effect. All these are crucial feedback which helps a lot in driving and better understand the car.
*
Long story short, the new FLX is a gentleman's car and really comfortable for long distance drive as proven during my recent drive to Spore and back. Why? Because I don't feel the gear change at all + the suspension is firm.

However, in stop-start traffic, FLX is "jerky" and needs getting used to. For the driver who is used to "potong jalan" and need to cucuk here and there in a long queue, FLX is not easy to control initially.

Because I am a gentleman driver and don't usually cut queue, FLX is perfect for my style of driving. tongue.gif

my car, usually after driving more that 30km (at last bar), only then the low fuel warning will lit.
*
The manual says 40L tank capacity. Which means you need to spend RM76 to fill up the tank @ 1.90/L.
At 20 sen/km, the total mileage on a full tank = 380km?

QUOTE(coldzerotarget @ Sep 29 2011, 01:30 PM)
Nope, lowyatsuperman is right, it does not have CD function. Both FZ models are only USB/Bluetooth/Ipod compatible.

Thanks for clarifying. No CD player means the HU is useless as the better quality music comes from HQ CDs.

that's the reason when we fill up the car, full tank is only around RM47 to RM55.
if i not mistaken, the car will use the reserve tank when low fuel warning light up...  hmm.gif
*
U make sound like there are 2 tanks. tongue.gif
The only way to test if the tank capacity is 40L is to drive until the car stops from zero fuel. Anyone wants to do that?

Hi all,

will buy Saga Flx soon...now doing the loan application...

Hesitating now want to take which color...but i prefer Black color but a lot ppl said it is very embarrasing to take care of it...is it true???

See my comments below.

QUOTE(gogoman86 @ Oct 1 2011, 08:39 AM)
White = Luxury (but very easy got dirty)
Black = Sporty (look sporty but interior is much hot compare to others)
Silver = Common (look smart, easy to take care)
Elegant Brown/Blue Rock = your choice... no comment...
*
Here's my personal opinion:
White = Young ppl like. Esp white with a black bonnet (to me super ugly). But white deflects heat so that's good. It is very common, though.
Black = If u like to drive around an "oven". Black absorbs heat and not practical for our weather.
Silver = Super common. But can look good if u maintain the shine.
Blue rock = To me, it looks rather unattractive.
Elegant Brown = This is a new colour so u won't see many other models with same colour. I had doubts at first. But after selecting this, the colour tends to grow on u and I am beginning to like it. The name "elegant" is very appropriate as it resembles gold colour. I think older folks will like this. After getting this, I have managed to get matching brown umbrella, even tissue box that complements the colour. tongue.gif

At the end of the day, diff ppl will have diff preference lah.
