There's a very old & common saying : One gets what one pays for..."
Heard that b4?

Yup, higher quality products by vendors supplying parts to Proton means HIGHER cost. That eventually means HIGHER prices 2pay by Buyers. True?

Ppl who buy Merz also got probs with their cars... tongue.gif However, they can afford 2pay for more expensive parts! True? blush.gif

actually it depends on service center, i dont know how much profit the branch makes, maybe only get profit from services...if you are claiming warranty, is it they work for free? this might be the reason why they dont bother about your car

usually when claiming, i go to big service center, so far so good

i dn't think is proton fault...reason?
those part aren't made by proton, they get the stock from the brand supplier
if faulty, all they can do is claim from them only since they didn't produce it
and glass now always break after hot thn suddenly cold
i remember go to restaurant order milo ping, they use those thick glass cup...since u know how they make drink
use hot water thn put ice in it
come to my table....didn't directly shatter...sip sip 1st thn only it shatter
lol...all over everywhere

ya, reformat with tuned map. it will be permanent and you need to pay a huge sum of money each time you reformat

i suggest you to install piggyback like works ems-1 instead. it will cost you 1.2k for the chip, installation and tuning is around rm400..

after that, if you need to retune, it will cost you around rm250 each session

if you dont need it you can remove it and sell it and leave your car with stock ecu.
*
aww... actual plan = learn how to remap/reflash ecu to save cost.
end up = learning that it cost dam much.... heart pain sia...

Forget this lah, since I can install outside and more cheaper than charged from Proton SC should be fine smile.gif

Anywhere what ever spoil just find workshop outside and better than proton SC.
I would go forthirst 3 times on frist service in future won't go again, maybe due to engine issue ha ha, I should step in to SC for repair smile.gif

If roof top or windscreen leaking maybe will go to proton SC he he.

i mean claim insurance, not warranty. even outside mechs there provide insurance claiming for crack windscreens and windows mar.nothing to do with official SC or non-official SC. you even can try to source out the good+cheap official SC which is opened by private companies to obtain a lower service rate but at the same time secure the warranty terms.

If that is true, then it stands to reason that if I buy a brand new Waja H-line now, I should expect the performance and quality similiar to that of a 2011 Camry. Why? a new Camry in the US costs USD $22k, which translates to about RM65-75k here.

I'm sorry to say that Proton gets away with all these crap because of the hefty import tax levied on import cars, so we have no choice but to buy their cars because many can't afford to buy imports.

It's naive to say that because their product is low quality that's why we can buy their cars so cheap....that simply is incorrect. Why do you think Inspira costs 90k and a Lancer costs RM 130k?

EDIT: Sorry I have to bring this up, but it's an open secret anyway and I drive a 10 year old Waja whistling.gif I just cannot tahan whenever people say "Proton cheap ma, that's why quality bad lor." and accepts it.

true. Even a cheap chicken rice (RM3-3.50) is nice to eat at certain restaurants. It's all about the effort put in to produce the end result.

For those who always complain about proton service, its the same story also for other car makers in malaysia. This morning I was at Auto Bavaria Glenmarie to pick up my boss since he need to repair his F10 5 series. According to him, he has been complaining about the faulty absorber since June and only today he could manage to get it fixed after some F**king session at Auto Bavaria and subsequently to BMW Malaysia. The worst part is, it will take them 2-3 days just to have the absorber replaced. lol at 3 f***ing days for replacing an absorber. lmao.

known brands come with hefty price, that includes the service, parts n maintenance. but by cheap it doesn't mean to be worst in quality. proton did a good job on chassis, engine (but not fc), suspension. but the smaller parts which was made by local suppliers sometimes not that good. proton hv made it clear that they're doing some effort to improve their supplier quality. hope that's true so that we get a better car.

honestly, proton did well in areas not all people appreciate, but they did bad on areas people are concern like fc, n noise.

Yea I can see some people at Proton have the heart, just not the will.

I read that the power window lifetime warranty came about after the Proton CEO took a cab from KLIA, it was a Waja and the driver don't wanna open the window to pay toll. The driver uncle told him Proton power window always rosak, dowan to open too often. The CEO was so embarrased that's why he decide to offer the lifetime warranty (Read this from the Star newspaper, dunno whether the CEO got bluff anot lah).

I wish Proton all the best, but hopefully not at the expense of the consumers.
