yes, indeed.. This is last chance for bears to take control otherwise no more chance if there is resolution coming from Washington.

Boehner said he'll accept the senate plan. That's it.
Bears got no chance, continue to stay long. |

QUOTE(super911 @ Oct 15 2013, 05:39 PM) Bro, a) I used to have ETrade but not anymore. I don't like their tools. For same commission, I prefer TD Ameritrade ThinkorSwim.Need your assistance on the following: 1. Is Etrade a good enough platform for traders who are active? They are just charging a flat $9.99 for any contract size. 2. What's the cheapest way to withdrawl money from US trading account back to Malaysia? Etrade told me that they will charge $25 for every withdrawal request. Then bank will charge us for TT, plus conversion losses. 3. Can we short sell stocks in US market? or only certain designated counters? Thanks. b) Dunno much about Malaysia bank transfer rate. 'coz I kept my account in USD and SGD. I use Interbank transfer, (US direct deposit method)... somehow I didn't see any fees unless I convert them to local SGD currency. c) Yes, you can short stocks in US market provided you've a margin acct open. Some stocks have designated higher risk and may required higher margin requirement. Min is US25K per account. |

QUOTE(super911 @ Oct 17 2013, 08:50 AM) Bro, Yes.. non-issue for me. I had TD Ameritrade (USA account) more than 10 years (even before they expanded to Singapore and elsewhere).I just checked the TD Ameritrade website. Only Singapore PR or with working pass allowed to open an account. -May non-Singapore citizens trade with thinkorswim Singapore? Yes, non-Singapore citizens may register with thinkorswim Singapore, provided you are a Permanent Resident or have a valid Employment Pass or Work Pass. You will be required to provide us with a valid Tax ID number in Singapore to open the account. You will also be required to verify your Singapore address by providing us with a copy of a utility bill and/or bank statement listing your address. Can you meet their requirement? If not, there are many other brokers also allow Malaysian only citizens to trade. This post has been edited by danmooncake: Oct 17 2013, 10:35 AM |

QUOTE(yok70 @ Oct 17 2013, 10:13 PM) Yeah.. IBM has been really really weak lately. I will not short or long from here.I may attempt to short if it can do a dead cat bounce to fill that gap to 180 first. For now, better stay at sidelines and watch or set trigger alert. Take a look at FB, - back above 50 again.. This post has been edited by danmooncake: Oct 17 2013, 10:33 PM |

AAPL needs a strong push above 515, then it will be free to move up even higher from here.
Let see if the Q4 earnings (Oct 28th) will help them or not. |

QUOTE(netmask8 @ Oct 18 2013, 08:59 AM) Impressive indeed. Darn.. just a year ago, I was holding 1K worth of LVS shares. Looks like market going to stay here tonight. Not making much move but I'll get my calls taken away if SPY stays above 173. |

QUOTE(yok70 @ Oct 18 2013, 10:40 PM) Speaking of AAPL, I'm not touching it here at 500-515 level. Just one week and one more day to go for the Q4 report. Either they'll have to break above 515 or get smack back down. If smack back down, then I'll go right back in.. hopefully, can get smack down to 455-480 level again. |

QUOTE(yok70 @ Oct 18 2013, 11:06 PM) You didn't get this last month (Sept 16th and 17th) when it hit the lows of 447.22 and 447.50?Next time, just continue to let the GTC order stand. On a bad day, during puke fest, it will fill. I'm thinking of sell 450 Nov PUTs. Collect premium while I wait. This post has been edited by danmooncake: Oct 19 2013, 01:58 AM |

QUOTE(yok70 @ Oct 19 2013, 07:26 PM) What do you all think of Tesla? No, I don't think TSLA will take over the market. There aren't a lot of supercharger stations in US even so in Europe. Is it really THAT BIG now? Do you think it's really gonna take the market? My doubt is, other car companies also can make electric cars right? Is it something like Apple? A "style" more than an electric car for Tesla? The cars aren't cheap either. GM already got their Chevy Volt, Mazda got the Green... all electric too. But, it is hot right now because of the stock price movement. Lotsa of hot money going in.. because nobody wants to miss out. All it takes is one bad news.. then, we'll see it falls like a rock. The valuation is ridiculous.. lots of hype right now. Dangerous to play at this level. |

QUOTE(yok70 @ Oct 21 2013, 01:51 AM) you may short. Short can be dangerous now too. overall market movement like this, possibly will stay sideline for quite a while? bull seems tiring soon, and bear no chance to come out also. Bears got a few chances this month but all vaporized since Uncle Ben decided to keep the PUTs in place till next year or until his replacement takes over. Originally, the plan is to taper in October but since US govt shut and debt ceiling fiasco came out at the same time, Fed decided to keep it till next year. Now, bulls got no fear and they're going to rally till next year. Just go with the bull camp now. Continue to put money to work for every pull back... |
