Yeah, anyone went test drive please let us know their results as well. The looks of the new X-gear is awesome, and its a steal at rm82k only. Didnt like the ahpek aunty unkerish of the old grand livina.

it's it the same chassis?, one 5seater the other 7 (maybe slightly longer)..

maybe the different chrome grille makes it look different

Main differences:
- exterior cosmetics
- shorter chassis on rear end (between C and D-pillar)
- no rear air vents between front seats n 3rd vent above centre centre vent on dashboard

the seat fabric felt cheaper than grand livina. seat is less firm although the SA says it's the same..

worst of all, passenger on rear seat will have hard time getting out of the car because of the smaller rear door.. i'm only 172cm with mid build body. plus short legs. basically if i'm wearing a skirt, i have a chance to air my panties when i get down from the car.

also the boot panel that covers the spare tires is loose and don't fit well... it's about 1 inch of play.

the doors have only single rubber lining... nowadays cars comes with 2 lining, and higher class have 3 rubber lining. basically on normal car nowadays have rubber lining on the door frame and on the door itself... same goes with grand livina... but here it's only on the door..

And yes, except for d Sylphy, Murano, Teana and new X-Trail, d rest of d lot runs on 4-spd auto (minus d 6-spd in 370Z n 5-spd in d Navara) from TCH.

Dun mistaken it with the general CVT term for Continuously Variable Transmissions.

CVT is for the gear box..

C-VTC is for continuous valve timing control.

Opps... typo. Yup Nissan using VTC (Sentra) n CVTC.

i will go for the sx4 coz it's cbu from japan and italian design. In many countries it is sold as fiat sedici.

Interesting highlight here. But d X-Gear does have d same output as d 1.6L GL though.

Anyway, there isnt much difference in terms of output
Latio 1.6 80kW/6000rpm vs X-Gear 77kW/5200rpm
Latio 1.6 153Nm/4400rpm vs 150Nm/4400rpm

Had a short run d X-Gear last wknd. Overall its a bit nippier than d 1.6GL (weight n length difference) while compared to its competitors n other crossovers, d interior is noticeable bigger in terms of passenger n boot space. But still prefer SX4 hatch's sharper handling even if it is more cramped.

nice short analysis....this are some of the little things I get picky myself.

similar engines, but the kerb weight is less 100kg, the drive might be a little different from the Grand Livina comparison.

paultan's review had 4 people on board, and on that occasion, I don't really have 4 occupant driving 85% , which is still ok.
However, there is the 4 gear ratio shifting smoothness and the sound proofing that might worry me....I will need to get some time to test drive this car...

Not sure if they have a manual variant...hmmm...

One main comment about the X gear is that the rear boot sill, is painted metal. If you load and unload stuff, there is a good chance of scratching the boot sill. Need to put a sill protector garnish on it. Another way to make. More money for the accessories. Do not know why this was removed as the rear boot sill was well protected in the Grand Livina.

Latest info from the salesman, need to wait 4.5months before I can get the car due to long waiting list!

I'm an owner of the X-gear.. been driving this car for 3 weeks now..

I had 3 test drive session before i made the purchase. 1st test drive was by myself and the SA. 2nd was with my wife,her bro and the SA just to test the full load 4 passengers performance, 3rd test drive just to confirm this is the car to buy.. huhu..

Its a nice car to drive, engine is good, never felt underpowered and the gear change is smooth. I've driven up to 160km/h and i can tell u that it is stable in straight line and it didn't struggle to get to that speed.

engine is very quite during idle.

in terms of handling, it can take corners very well. surprisingly the suspension and absorber is very good. it absorb alot of the road bumps.

Fuel consumption varies depends on how heavy is the foot. i tend to push the car since i like the acceleration it gives. the best i got for mix highway and town driving is 480km for a 40L fill up. the worst i got was 400km for 40L fill up.

the only complaint i have is the tyre looks abit thin. they should give atleast 195 tyres not 185.

another plus point, it shares the same parts and accessories as the grand livina, so quite easy to find stuff for this car.

Just collected my X-Gear. Would like to check, since there is a AUX port on the radio, is there anyway we can connect Pen Drive, Ipod etc to play music?

no one, theres no usb interface for the player

u can use the AUX cable to connect with your ipod... or change a new HU..

sx4 is cbu and look nicer

looked at both, prefer x-gear than sx4.

x-gear with 16 inch rims 205 tyres, then it will look sporty.. the current 15 and 185 tyres is a bit skinny.
u can pun 17 inch rims but u'll lose the comfort and lost pickup abit...

Hi, did your x-gear change to 195 tyre?
Just recently my livina 1.8A changed to 195/60/15 this is really good & stable on every corner with less of brake on minor corner of the road.

But I'll still notice even my livina 1.8A also lose the pickup will be a bit heavy and also the steering feel. after moving is already be normal drove.
Even on half tank still can go around 195km and not much diff of 185/65/15 size.

oh ok. Does the tyre looks nice with the rim? alot of people recommend 195/55/15 if i want to maintain stock rims.

Anyone else have bought X-Gear? Just want to know reviews from real people here.
I am interested of getting one however the sales told me to wait for 3-4 months....

I also when for test drive yesterday at south gate chan sow lin branch. It was a good car. Spacious and tall easy to drive just that the engine and other feature is not up to market. basic car but still very comfortable. Any owner share information for maintenance for this car ?

this is the information i get from the SA.

She said the interest loan can get now is 2.41 by tan chong.

Then free tint for the car and also rebate rm500 for car insurance but you need to buy the insurance with them.

Hope there is an owner come in to give some opinion on the ride.

this was one of my choice before but after the salesman said i need to wait at least six months to get it, i immediately turned off

but all in all, this car is all right annd shld b able to serve its owner well

At this time,there's no discount for X-gear as i was told by the AS it doesn't fall under the MPV category.Actually you can go to any Nissan showroom for this RM4K discount.

so there's no discount not because it's a new car? just launched 6 mths back.

Owner of the car since Oct 2011. Generally the car is quite confy especially for rear passengers with spacious leg room. The engine though is not up to the market but still quite responsive and fuel consumption is not bad either. If you do not plan to use it as a family car (more than 5pax), then you can always choose x-gear.

Interested to buy this x-gear..Guys,please give respon and feedback so that i can get clear picture bout this SUV..Hehe,tq guys..

Where are all X-Gears owners, why so quiet here? I have collected my car today in Twilight Grey. It is a lovely car but I noticed 2 small scratched dots on the front grilles. Will TC replace the whole grille for me??

Mind to share how long is the waiting period till you collected the car?

You can try, but I don't think they will change the whole grille for you since you have already sign the agreement, unless you haven't signed and demand them to change it for you. then the success rate will be much much higher.

I bought it in Kuching. All have ex-stock and no waiting time like previous months. Go ahead to book one today. Quite happy with the car especially the ability to absorb road bumps easily.

Great to hear that So, are you going to change your rims to 16" and 205 tyres

I am very tempted to trade-in 185 to 195 tyre while maintaining the stock rim. The Nissan SA told me it would void the 3 years suspension warranty!
It will surely applies to changing the stock rim too. Guess, have to wait after 3 years unless one is willing to take the risk!

hi guys, i tested the nissan x-gear. i find the brake pedal quite high. I think in city driving when u have to press a lot of brake it can get really tiring

anyone know whether the brake pedal can be adjusted lower? I asked a few SC and they all said can't be adjusted.

usually under normal usage suspension can last abt 2-3 years. and it's a wear & tear item..i dont think nissan will cover those absorber replacement. use the stock rim n tyre for abot 1-2 years.

This is my 1st observation for my brand new X-Gear for its FC:-

100% city drive, speed rarely go over 80km/h for 1st week.
Using RON95
Full tank RM80 to estimate empty 400km equivalent to RM0.20/km.
Consider quite high FC Thought the car is fuel efficiency? What do you think?

i was at nissan the SA told me it's about 18 cent. But if SA say 18 cent, means ideally will be 18 cent, but when we drive will definitely be even more.

Does it mean I can get more mileage after the 1st service?? Well, I am hoping that. I will keep observing and report back.

Anyway, it has been advertised widely that GL or Livina is fuel efficiency car. Maybe I am expecting too much from a crossover or SUV. I believe if this car FC is high, then its big brother GL MPV is even worse. Hopefully the mileage will improve after the 1st service.

technically yes..after first few services..ur engine going to break in..after that u'r goin to get the actual fc. because the first few thousands km ur engine is a bit tight and rough.
actually the fc depends on ur expectation. i like xgear but i dont expect the fc going to be as good as vios.

My GF just bought this car. So far the first full tank cost rm80. Now already half tank gone it manage to go 200km. It will be 400km for full tank i guess.

I found this car is quite good on handling too to my surprise. I' m comparing this to my Suzuki Swift handling.

One thing not good is the design of the seat which is not supporting your head very well. The good thing is this is a tall car which means going to hole on the road won't hit your car body.

Engine sound is a little loud but the response of the engine is quite good.

It's nothing wrong to say Vios FC is better than X-Gear. We don't expect a bigger crossover is more fuel economy than a saloon car, do we?

What I dislike the car is very basic interior and not attracting enough. I was told this could turn out be our advantage in longer run as simple means lower maintenance is needed. The fabric of the seats are rough to the feeling too. However, the car handling and ability to absorb bumps or road holes has surprised me the most. This in turn gives a very nice comfortable ride, just like driving a C-segment saloon car

mikapoh what you said is correct. lower maintenance is one of the reason choosing this car. not much electronic stuff to spoil means nothing to fix. 15' rims means cheaper tyre. alloy rims for spare tyre is the best.

the seats is still acceptable. considering the price this is better choice then vios. feel so much spacious in the car compare to vios.

and the car exterior look expensive

Could not agreed more with you. In fact, my initial choice is either Vios TRD or Kia Forte. However, taking into consideration this car is crossover, much more spacious, very comfortable ride than the 2s and for my small family, I decided to choose this car instead.

For youngsters, I think Vios and Forte will appeal more

hehe dont get me wrong bcause actually i also wanna know the real fc for x-gear. currently driving a 1.3 car..but feel not suitable for long distance.. still looking for a good replacement..but not in hurry..minimum in 1 year..up to 2 yrs time. the options are forte 1.6 and x-gear(80k price). not looking for 1.8 car since the roadtax is more expensive.
regarding fc, around that class, vios will give the best fc... but is it better than..urmm let say persona?

For long distance, 1.8cc is more fuel economy than 1.6cc.

Forte 1.6 FC is quite high based on the findings here. They recommend 2.0 Forte!

but the roadtax diff is way too much..1.6 rm90..1.8 rm270. plus not much option for suv,crossover under 100k.

Going to get my X-Gear very soon..Cant wait to experience it,so far as i'm concern thi x-gear design very simple & fit the price arounr RM80K..What else can u ask from this type of crossover rite..Hehe..

I agreed although the exterior looks sporty but interior a bit dull, not much features. But, if you care about ride comfort and good engine, it won't disappoints you

My car is Twilight Grey and love the colour. I just get to know Nissan service centre is using Castrol Magnatec semi-synthetic oil. Good!

Same color v me ! But i no yet get ! how ur feel after drive a while ? Do u add spoiler behind ?

Feel? So far so good especially the suspension. Feel like driving a C-segment car very comfort with minimal body roll. For the size of the car, I think engine is very responsive.

I did not add spoiler and do not know there is one designed for it too. Anyway, the original one looks ok albeit look small. Nissan gives away Solar Guard but I have upgrade to V-kool for the whole car!

Nissan will increase X Gear price by at least RM 2k after they sell off 150 remaining units. Maybe a FL version is on its way

I get my X gear today ...but feel that the door sound proof a bit poor ....u can hear outside sound clearly when u driving ...any1 same feel v me ??
