Well, im going to buy a new laptop.yesterday i went to lowyat to survey and I got my eye on A55VD Color series which has i5 3rd gen, nvidia GT610M 2gb, 500gb sata hdd and ram 2gb. for the ram im going to upgrade it to 8GB.

Just curious, has anyone used this model?how is it? i cant find much review on the internet. I mostly use the laptop for programming and a little bit of gaming. the games i play are FIFA and CS. can this laptop support better games such as CS GO?

if anyone has experience on this model, your output is very much appreciated. thanks

Yup, the difference is quite big nod.gif
For a 15" notebook, perhaps you can consider these:
Asus A55VM-SX037, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT630M@RM2399, 4GB, 750GB, W7HP *bargain until RM2.1k tongue.gif

or

Dell Inspiron 15R, i5-3210M + AMD HD7670M@RM1899[2.65kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm)

Performance-wise, GT630M = 7670M nod.gif

Sorry for not checking properly. Didn't see carefully doh.gif

For the dell inspiron 14z ultrabook i3 type, the integrated GPU is HD3000 or HD4000??

I go to dell website i see this spec for inspiron 14z

"Intel® HD Graphics 3000/4000 (3000 for i3 and 4000 for i5/i7 processor)" in the video card section.

So its HD3000 or HD4000 for i3 model??

Asus new product guide Oct-Nov 2012.
http://my.asus.com/Static_WebPage/Product_Guide/
Not much suprise except Nexus 7 is quiet tempting. brows.gif

After six months Nvidia launched the new 28nm Kepler 600 series mobile GPU, its sad that only a limited new GPUs are available and the rest are rebadged old 40nm Fermi 6xx GPUs. The same thing go to AMD new Southern Islands HD7000 series mobile GPU with limited choices. shakehead.gif

This is mainly due to TSMC 28nm manufacturing are not able to keep up with the high demand. Its sad that consumer need to tradeoff with the old tech due to limited supplies. TSMC is expanding its 28nm manufacturing with improved yield, we can see more new Kepler GPU are coming, such as GTX675MX, GTX670MX, GT645M & GT625M. drool.gif

AMD & Nvidia is having a very good competition in the desktop GPU but lack of competition in the mobile GPU. Hope AMD will come out more mobile GPUs to compete with Nvidia so that we can enjoy a better deal and more choices. May be it will happen in next year 2013 when they launch the Sea Islands where TSMC 28nm manufacturing is matured. rclxms.gif

Better pick a standard notebook rather than ultrabooks (too slim- poor cooling)
14"
Acer V3-471G-53214G75, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT630M@RM2099[2.3kg], 2GB, 750GB W7HP, 3 years warranty
Asus A45Vm-VX113v, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT630M (2GB)@RM2099[2.4kg], 2GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W7HP
Dell Inspiron 14R, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT630M@RM1899[2.38kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm)
Dell Inspiron 14R (Special Edition), i5-3210M + Nvidia GT640M(28nm Kepler)@RM2049[2.38kg], 4GB, 500GB(7200rpm); backlit keyboard optional
HP Pavilion G4-1302ax, AMD A8-3520M + AMD HD7450M@RM1899, 4GB, 640GB(5400rpm), W7HP
Lenovo Z480, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT630M@RM1999, 2GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W7HP, colors: grey/red/blue
Toshiba Satellite L840-1024X, i3-2370M + AMD HD7670M@RM1849[2.12kg], 2GB, 640GB, W7HP

Normal notebooks may be slightly heavier and bulkier, but they are more powerful, both in terms of CPU and GPU nod.gif

Looks like Dell Singapore is a tad cheaper.
Don't know about the other models but I was looking at Dell 14z.
