Yeah, the i5 variant of the N55sf is pretty much the best at the moment nod.gif
You might wanna wait out for the newer ones with refreshed processors, which is coming real soon (if not already)  laugh.gif

Basically i3 >> B940/950 >> E-450 in terms of CPU power laugh.gif
Whether a laptop lasts long or not depends very much on how the user takes care of the laptop; and also a little bit of luck.
If worried about laptop spoiling, its best to go for those that offer free 2nd or 3rd year warranties  nod.gif
*
o.O free 2nd or 3rd year warranty ??
is it such as asus and acer ??

hi...
need help here on choosing my notebook

1. Preferred Brand - Anything (prefer Asus,Dell or Toshiba)
2. Budget - rm2k-2.4k
3. Usage - surf net, watch movie, picture editing, light gaming
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - anything(since wanna get Dell 24' ultra-sharp LCD as external.)
*
asus a53sv, around RM2.3k with 15.6inch

QUOTE(emfbreaker @ Oct 18 2011, 12:25 AM)
1. Preferred Brand
2. Budget
3. Usage
4. Preferred laptop/screen size

1. Currently looking at Asus as I have tried on Lenovo and Acer. If any other suitable brands that meets my requirement I am glad to know about it too.

2. Budget around RM 3K

3. For software like AutoCAD and games like Civilization V & preparing for DotA 2.

4. 14" and higher. But the weight should not exceed 3kg preferably.

Hope to get replies soon! Btw, I have an eye on Asus N55SF and N53SN-SX269V. I have another question is that i7 core and i5 core is there much different if I am to use the laptop for AutoCAD and games like Civilization & DotA2?

Your kindness is greatly appreciated! laugh.gif
