Why A43Sa not recommended? I usually see A43Sv or A43Sj are recommended.

Thanks again. So basically, at this price range I really won't be able to get anything that is a good all rounder but is also lightweight and portable? It's one or the other?

It depends on your definition of an all-rounder actually laugh.gif
I think the Asus U36 is considered as not bad already for that price range, followed by Acer's 4830Tg, but its relatively more expensive nod.gif

I have 4k to spend on my new Laptop.

And I'm now eyeing on HP Envy 17 which sells for RM3800 brand new in the garage sales forum. Is it a good buy?? My major work on it is not gaming, but multimedia stuffs like redering animation, video editing, photo editing, illustrating and stuffs like that. I'm a multimedia student btw. smile.gif

in malaysia only have - N55SF-S2353V - RM 2799

brand is not important if want to compare

to compare laptop for gaming.. compare the GPU and also the CPU

brand is not important..

Should i get this(below) or Asus N55 (the Nvidia GT555M) or wait for next gen of i7 3000-series (Launch on April '12 but i suppose it will take sometime to normalize the price to affordable/worthy range)

HP DV6-6c19tx (RM2850)
- Intel Core i7-2670QM (2.2Ghz, 6MB L3 Cache) <<<< smile.gif
- 4GB Mem<<<< sad.gif
- 750GB HDD
- 15.6" LED Display (1366 x 768) <<<< sad.gif
- ATI Radeon HD 7690M XT Graphic (1GB GDDR5) switchable graphics <<<< smile.gif
- Win7 Home Premium
- with beats technology
- without Beats headset
- 1 year warranty <<<<< sad.gif

Question is will if buy now, scare will regret on April as nvidia and ATI will launch new range of GPU to match with the new CPU range i suppose.

Something that has good processing power but isn't a vegetable when it comes to playing games. Haha tongue.gif yeah. The U36SD definitely seems like a good candidate. Thanks! biggrin.gif just wondering though, what if I was looking for something like that but below RM2k?

ram can upgrade.. it's cheaper to upgrade through the shop you buy the laptop from... normally its additional RM50-70 for extra 4gb ram...

1 year warranty for hp... can extend... RM100-190 for additional 2 years warantty but it's offsite... it's called hp care pack... ask the shop you buy from to buy from them... otherwise get from hikari85... the hp care pack must purchase within 10 days and email to hp as well.. =D it'll be reflected through your laptop hp support assistant ( to see the warranty )... hmph i cant see your model in hp malaysia... please check whether if it's US model... coz if it's not available in malaysia range of model u cant get the extended local warranty...

if you wan beats headset... you can get dv6-6001tx @ RM3499 at harvey norman
Attached Image
or alternative is http://h20386.www2.hp.com/MalaysiaStore/ht...fy11#/home/dv-6 ( PC Deal 1 that comes with the headset )

overall i agree with marcus20125 that it's a good buy... based on the specs...
