Besides, why these 2 model are crossed in price list,

Hi I'm planning to get my first gaming laptop. Went to survey at a couple of shops. A shopkeeper recommended me asus 53v for 2.4k . Is it worth it ? Other than that , any recommendations ? Budget below 2.5k . Well willing to increase slightly if a better option is available out there . Thanks ! Well I'm planning to play games lah. Bf3 if possible smile.gif

if you can stretch budget a bit, can get
N55Sf-SX2353v [black], i5-2430M + Nvidia GT555m (2GB) + 1600x900@RM2799[Bang & Olufsen]; USB3.0, Sonic Master subwoofer

better gpu compared to gt540m

I heard u like Assassin Creed. If u liek fiddling with drivers and spend some time to get the best out of your system.
- A43TA-VX047v, AMD A6-3400M + AMD HD6720G2@RM1899 <--- still got this model around?
will give you the best performance/price.

Pros:
  • Can undervolt to lower temperature and increase battery life.
  • Can overclock the CPU for more performance. (I'm not sure if the GPU is overclockable)
  • Better discrete graphic compared to GT520M.
Cons:
  • Crossfire driver support could be pain in the butt.
  • No Crossfire support for DX9 game, so Assassin Creed is out. Only can use dGPU for that.
  • PowerXpress need improvement. No indicator to show which GPU you are currently using.
I can't comment on the build quality since i never touch it. doh.gif

If you don't like fiddling with the settings and drivers.. go for Marcus recommendation.
