Wow, thanks for the quick response. I am starting to wonder lee_what signature.. are you a bot? haha

btw, my concern is on heat and battery life as well. Is dell fitting my requirements on that? Notebook weight should be 2.5kg and below.

Long time no see lee_what sifu liao sad.gif
Yeah he is bot, I'm not haha, I do make mistakes quite often laugh.gif laugh.gif

Well, the Dell XPS 15z more or less suits your requirements haha, its 0.01kg heavier though laugh.gif
Review on the unit here:

If you're not in a hurry, you might want to wait for the upcoming Samsung 7 series yo~

Hi, i'm going to buy a new laptop in this week but have no idea which brand is more suitable for me.
Budget: RM 1500-RM2500
prefer laptop which run faster, less problem, long shelf life.. last time, my toshiba only last for 3 and half years.
so far, recommended by friends with asus. i really dunno about those criteria for buying laptop.. @.@

If you only prefer Dell/Alienware, and 15-17", then you could only choose Alienware m17x no? laugh.gif
Though you could also import the weaker XPS 17...
I would recommend you to take a look at Sager units instead yo nod.gif

IMHO, laptop nowsaday mostly have overheating problem, due to the improvement of the performance of the CPU and the graphic card, yet, manufacturers overlooked the design of the cooling system.

I am a Laptop Tech for 10 years (but no expert), 10 years ago, some laptop has 2 fans or one huge fan. Now the size of the fan shrunk and some laptops even have the bad design which there is no vent at the bottom of the chasis for the fan to draw cool air in from the outside. 3 and a half year is lucky you smile.gif

My point is a newer laptop is not built to last. It is really up to the users on the way of using their laptops.

If you are not a gamer, get whatever you like under your budget, max up the warranty offered, have a peace of mind and take good care of it. smile.gif
