Hi Netz, sorry to you but there has no N8 get in currently.
No BB, as currently BB is shortage of stock too . haha
Good day, mate. Your comment is true & i will be look over for that trying to have more competitive price tag for our buyer.
For the reason of some model (sometimes) price tag is stay the same with other seller (mostly not higher than them, but some will.) compare to last time which is mostly below them is because of :
Marketing statics changed in our source recently (Singapore, or Australia ).
1: High demand result : competitive priceHigh demand for branded used phone on China, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, of caused included us (Malaysia) .
China reseller can bid much higher price among all competitor as they can have much room than us when selling in their country. Please believe what they are bidding now :
example : (currency rate : $1 SGD > RM2.51)
Apple iPhone 4 8/16/32/ : SGD 430 / 460 / 480 (RM 1080 / 1155 / 1205)
Apple iPhone 4s 32/64 : SGD 645 / 690 (RM1618 / RM1731)
Sam Galaxy Note : SGD 540 (RM 1355 )
BlackBerry 9900 : SGD 420 (RM1054)
BlackBerry 9700 : SGD 170 (RM427 )
Sam Galaxy Sii : SGD 410 (RM1029 )
Above is the latest price tag & few of many model currently on bidding value. Of cause, +/- SGD 10 or 15 depend on conditions. China Importer mostly interesting on Samsung & Apple model, they pay higher price tag for that but most important part was
they don't mind for any conditions except LCD must have no serious scratch (as they need it for Re-cond propose). Unlike us, we are only take in quality range (Our standard : 90% above conditions, never repair before, warranty seal not templed), so we need to bid it with much higher price than them, else we wont get what we want. (Thats why, recent year, many model facing shortages stock in my inventory, like BB ? HTC? )
Next, is Hi-BlackBerry demand in Indonesia & Thailand. This 2 country playing main roles in BlackBerry market, they visit every weeks & export almost hundred pcs of BB back to their country every week, they pay 10-20 bucks than us but also without conditions QC. What they want is : Power On, LCD Fine, Camera Fine, then the next pay the bills. Same as Vietnam, too.
Our buyer also know that, they understand of it. Like our same line:
Ken6828,
WEE2000, and many others who also bring in Quality used phone from Singapore & i believe them should be effected as well. Our profit margin for each phone is around RM50 +/- included taking service for 14 days warranty (or longer for some model), and we do facing losses on some defected units after QC, when we only pick a good one. Basically, we taking profit on running quantity beside selling at LYN)
Another way is taking trade in/buy in for local used-phone can gain more room than imported units, which i working partially now. However, some local model may not convenience as imported used phone, like local iPhone 4/s (Celcom, Maxis, Digi) , it need previous owner to have a claim when issue happen within warranty period, which is the hardest part for the next buyer.
Thats why, you can see why those telco Iphone 4 selling cheaper than SG unit, because of inconvenience Warranty issue. (Which almost same as no warranty.)
2: Quality vs Quantity. We don't need only cheaper price, but we also need reliable service & product quality. When we pick stock like picking good apple & orange, our source need us to pay much higher then only allow us to pick. So, to get nicer conditions phone, we paid extra. Or else, we import by Lot-to-Lot, which will include those ugly, missing some part, or defected unit to have a average value sum-up. Thats why, sometimes you see i'm selling "Value Buy Item" , which is actually selling below cost to cover cost from other model, we call : lum-sum.
3: Expensive Singapore dollar strike By the time i started for selling used-phone in forum, the exchange rate is RM 2.27/5/3 : SGD 1 , and now was RM 2.51/2 : SGD 1. It is about 15% increased per exchange. Take example on my usual buying :
in RM2.27 rate, RM40'000 buying SGD : we get SGD$17622.00 (sometime in 2007)
@ now RM2.51 rate, RM40'000 > SGD : we get SGD$15937.00 (now)
on above comparison, we loss SGD$1685.00 (RM4230.00)
per transactionseg: buying a iphone 4 8GB with the price : SGD 430 > before (2.27) : RM976.00 / now (2.51) : RM1079.00
That is why, the currency impact to us not only our profit, but also effected to our customer by price tag. What to do ? But our country is weaker than singapore making thing expensive.
I would explain above to you & all of our buyer, not we are taking high profit but because above reason, hope to get forgiveness & understanding from you all

. My promise is providing much value price as i can, at the same time, QC & Reliable service is improving, too.
What i look for current marketing issue is temporally (hope so), once China & other country became more competitive, will be effecting them too, that is our chance again. And i also believe after 13th election, or maybe our gov do something for us, making our currency stronger, will also help us to get cheaper phone, too.
Thanks for helping him !
Ok !
Thanks Jeff !
Great explanation. A lot of people would think that selling phones can earn a lot since the market got so many new models and high demands. But people tend to forget the competition is quite tough nowadays that end up squeezing the profit margin of reseller. I remember last time when I start selling original nokia phone, the profit per unit is round 150-200. nowadays, the most earned for an ori phone is only around 10-20 depending on area. Haiz…
