if you have a wifi theetring device(e.g., mifi modem, ip4, anroid, etcetc), there is no need for a 3g.

Even if you can use your mobile phone to tether, it sucks battery really fast...
A 3G unit also means an extra bill to pay BUT with extra GPS capabilities |

I rather prefer to use Blackberry as GPS thru Blackberry Maps where its awesomely accurate but no voice navigation.
Ts,if you want a 3G version where you can browse anytime without going to covered wifi area or Kuala Lumpur open wifi hotspot. Its just the matter paying to your internet provider the amount and you get a bad service eg.speed and data download accuracy. |

If you haven't gotten your iPad yet, I recommend you get WiFi + 3G version. Whether you own an iPhone or Android smartphone (with tethering capabilities), it might be troublesome in the long run as mentioned above by ysc.
Plus, if you're already on a data plan for your smartphone, I'm sure your operator would have a special package for additional data plan for the tablets. FYI, both my iPhone + iPad are on Maxis data plans. iPhone is on monthly RM90 (500MB) & iPad is monthly RM80 (6GB). |
