Bought TuneUp Media recently. Not bad tool for cleaning up the iTunes music library. Pretty fast. Basically it will add and repair ID tags where relevant.
Some of the songs which you burned and don't put a title into it, it will then try to fingerprint and suggest a title for it based on the match. So far quite accurate but as usual there will be songs that they don't have the fingerprint of it and manual work have to come this way. Well it cut off many hours by doing it manually if you have thousands of collection. It add or suggest cover as well. Now looks better when playing it on iphone/ipod

It does it Automagically ™!
Does it work well with non-English songs?

Hi guys,

How did you all manage your life and work? Currently im using Ical to record my weekly and monthly plan but i have been keeping the small things checked most of the time. I need to find a good Free application to manage Project with Gantt Chart and also Get Things Done Program to focus on more important work . I need a good graphical interface program that is easily understood .

Ical is superb for me as im able to sync with my iphone but i still need to prioritize the project and errands separately.

Can you guys share with me what application you are running on your mac to focus on priority . thanks.
*
Have you tried creating a New Calender in iCal, naming it Errands? You can then create to-dos with different colour codes and priorities.

As for Gantt Charts, you could try Numbers - depending on your definition of "free". My current preference is Tom's Planner for Gantt Charts and Bubbl.Us for mind maps.

thanks Oji, i never try using to create new calendar before but i know many of my task cluttering my calendar . i try this method u gave it to me. first time heard of Tom's Planner and bubbl.us.

how about GTD ? i know there are some that actually helps to Prioritize the mind to focus on the task and not wander out of the task scope.
tq.

I'm unfamiliar with the GTD concept, but a quick Google search caught an article off of Merlin Mann's 43 Folders blog regarding the subject. Give that a read if you're interested in the GTD concept and how it ties in with the Mac OSX.

Other options off the first search page include
Omnifocus (for the super duper expensive pro software)
Things

Actually , anti virus are important for those who is dual booting via bootcamp such as windows and mac os x , anti virus will prevent mac from getting the virus and spreading it to other PC's while it wont react/infect the mac
*
If you're dual booting to Windows, then you only need the antivirus to run on Windows. And if people whom you interact electronically with get infected by a virus, then point them to an antivirus.

What's... "text word"? And why does it belong to Microsoft? Do they own the word "text" now? o_O

I like the conciseness, but I've grown to dislike the suggestion for Serial Box. Buy the software, support the developer.

Hey guys,
I have a problem now which i cant find a cheap solution for .Mov converter to DVD format. (To play directly from DVD player)

I had tried a few .MOV converter such as:

1) Amisoft
2) Wondershare DVD Converter

But converter works perfectly fine but it cost USD $49.9 which are rather steep in the price tag.

Based from the first page, observe that's one is called:
ROXIO- Popcorn 4? also cost USD $49.9 which is also exp...

Any other cheaper range which produce the same conversion to DVD format?
Appreciate the help guys!

emm dont think so ....
from iMovie tutorial ...it seems is an importing software from your memory sticks or any video camera to your Mac.

What i need is a software able to convert .mov to DVD format.

tks

/facepalm

If you've read my post to the end, which I admit can be very daunting, you'd have noticed that I've also mentioned iDVD. Have you actually opened the program to try it out?

Realplayer... ew.... ew... EWWWWWW!!!!!

You can download Flash-embedded videos with Safari. Open, say, a Youtube video. Launch Activity Window in Safari. Look for an FLV or any file that's several MBs big. Double-click. Hey-presto-Bob's-yer-uncle.

mac newbie here.. can anyone recommend drawing software for mac OSX.. simple drawing software like Paint&Brush in windows..
*
For image manipulation:
Adobe Photoshop
Pixelmator
Gimp

For vector drawing:
Adobe Illustrator
Zeus Draw
Inkscape

I personally use Pixelmator and Inkscape (although I only use the later via Bootcamp). Zeus Draw is on my wishlist.

hi guys,

any free software out there that can reduce office files size just like nxpowerlite for windows that compatible for mac os?

thanks
*
Never used nxpowerlite, but iWork does have a "Reduce File Size" function.

Open the offending Office file (.doc, .ppt) in Pages or Keynote,
File > Reduce File Size, then
File > Export... > DOC/PPT
