Yeah, totally agree that v need to hav this thread laugh.gif
It's time for 80s babies ere to talk about one of their all time fav laugh.gif

Anyone know when is the new animated Thundercats is coming on screen ere? tongue.gif

What about d action figures? Wanna get d new ones, especially d cool looking Lion-O tongue.gif

Only managed to finally own one Thundercats figure after so many yrs later laugh.gif

Also, need to go n look for d old cartoon set dvds once I have got d time...old skol stuffs rocks!!!

Added on September 4, 2011, 2:38 pmMy one and only Thundercats figure laugh.gif
A bit disappointed with the technology used on its feet. It's can't really stand that well+stable on poses as the feet r plastics. Bandai US should have used SHF style, whereby usage of steel/iron r use for feet to ensure that the figure can stand+pose properly.

After all, Lion-O is pretty muscular, even d normal (almost skinny) Kamen Rider figures' feet r mould in steel/iron doh.gif
Anyway, am still happy bout it though...

Oh, it can't pose that well because of the muscular biceps and non SHF Kamen Rider shoulder-torso link/articulation technology sweat.gif

Spam!!!

Plz Ignore the DVDs whistling.gif

Finally a Thundercats thread thumbup.gif

The new series has been airing since late July, every Friday evening in US. Now at episode 7. The new character designs are awesome, and the new Thundertank design is superb in the cartoon.

Unfortunately, the new toy line by Bandai is somewhat lacking (e.g. Deluxe figures like Lion-O, no articulations compared to his 4" fig, Cheetara's hip articulation differs from the others) based on reviews done by people on Youtube. Even worse, the new toy line is only for sale in US and Canada, based on feedback by major online sellers like Bigbadtoystore.. sad.gif sad.gif

Yeah, too bad that the toys r only available in northern america...
Bandai should bring it into Asia, m sure that the sales will b pretty good since a lot of the young adults grew up watching those legendary cats...

I emailed Bandai about this a few weeks back. No reply so far, which means we're not getting it, can keep on dreaming cry.gif

Unless someone orders from overseas and sells here, which will result in higher prices sweat.gif sweat.gif

Exactly, since the new Thundercats toy line is under Bandai, it is bound to come here sooner or later..
So no need for panic buying..

I've watch upto ep.5..
Love the way, they develop the characters especially Lion O...he no longer use the Thunder, Thunder Thunder, Thundercats.... HOOO!!! call to bail him out of trouble... unlike the 80's Lion O.

Love the tweeks they make on this new series....like Tygra using more of gun (instead of whip), change of Tygra's costume, and how Panthro resembles a 'sumo' wrestler.

It's under Bandai America to be exact. Whether the show and the toy line will make it to Asia in the future, who knows..we can only remain optimistic..but if you want the toy line now, then online is the only place to get it..

Their overall designs are better imo. No more swimsuits fashion. And especially Snarf, no more annoying talking mascot sweat.gif

Based on interview with the Thundercats development team, in episode 7, there were scenes showing characters from 2 different classic cartoons, namely Silverhawks and Tiger Sharks. I don't really remember much about Tiger Sharks, but I remember Silverhawks were pretty cool laugh.gif

OT a bit, so apologies for that. Can't wait for next episode..they've not introduced Jackalman and Slithe yet.

Hi all,
I am another fan of Thundercats, always went to neighbour house to watch due to own house no TV3. tongue.gif
Tiger Sharks almost same as Thundercats in term of the characters line up, anyway I remember that the main character is in blue color, but not carry sword.
I believe youtube got data for that lar.

The toys looks of similar quality with Ben 10 figures doh.gif

By the way, what size is that?? 3"??

I actually saw Mumm-Ra (Mummy version) yesterday...looks unimpressive as there is basically no articulation....

Any idea if there are going to be a bigger version?? Deluxe maybe??

6" has better articulation based on the vid reviews..but 6" only for Lion-O, Mumm-ra (wing-less) and Panthro..plus, no vehicles for 6" figures.

I'd get a 6" Lion-O and 4" everyone else + vehicles if available here.. sweat.gif sweat.gif

You can get the new thundercats figures from a specialised toyshop in penang with exaggerated pricing now else its ebay. Wave 2 would probably be early quarter of 2012 and there are rumors that there will be 2-3 classics 8inches at the end of the year but take this with a pinch of grain salt.

4" and 6" figures can be easily obtain but i'm not really keen on the latest 2011 cartoon. the 4" Lion-O doesn't even have the thundercats logo on the sword if i'm not mistaken..not acceptable! still prefer the classic

Mezco Lion-O

What i like about this figure is the great details and shadings. Not only it stands at 14" but it also has the statue-like look. Anything in the form of classic Lion-O is a must have for me! thumbup.gif

Haha I found it at Amcorp Mall for RM90.
As for what it can do:
- Light comes from only the Thundercats logo, not the eye of Thundera...this light only shows together with the sounds
- There are 3 'sword slash n clash' sounds when you press the trigger on the handle
- Pressing the button right above the handle flips the hand guards out with its own sound and light
- Holding down the trigger on the handle for a few secs makes it say 'thunder, thunder, thunder'...(you can make it go non-stop to irritate ppl on purpose)...releasing the trigger will sound 'thundercats ho'
- The trigger on the handle is also used to 'unlock' the blade. It doesn't flick out by itself...you have to manually pull it out

But don't be fooled by my photo of the sword...it's actually very small...
Only 22.5 inches long when extended, 16.5 inches when collapsed.

It's nice to display when the blade is collapsed, but it looks ridiculous when it's extended...

yes, its complete...whole team of 4'' thundercats has been released so far...

but shop carefully...i saw a shopping mall selling each 4'' thundercat for only rm 40....but i dun really care for 2011 thundercats so i dont bother.

ThunderTank with Panthro:

seen the reviews on this tank and most complained about the cockpit hood being too loose; mine is somehow less loose and open and closes normally without wanting to come off.. nice tank and the faux thunder racers, though i wish it could be to scale..

i guess the Thundercats 2011 show is cancelled.. so sad, the new series is kinda nice, with wayyy better vehicles..\

speaking of which, TRU Kuching (Pullman) has about 3 Thundertanks selling fro RM159.99 each.. a lot of the 4" and 6" figures too, and the two Thunderracers for about RM7X-ish..

Deluxe Sword of Omens, about 4 units at about RM109 each..

i wonder if there are any retailer carrying the wave 2 vehicles; Mumm-Ra Storm Charger and Tygus Tiger Flyer.. doesnt look that way though; A new TRU just opened in Kuching (The Spring) and it doesnt have any thundercats toys at all.. sad.gif

Mumm-ra's Storm Charger; awesome vehicle though Bandai's toyline seems to have out-of-proportion vehicles..

With the Mumm-ra figure inside, the light-up palms lights up the Storm Charger's eyes as well.. pretty nifty effect, makes a great wall hanging diorama.
