A77 aint bad at all..
tested w/ my minolta 50F1.7 in video mode, smooth focusing..
the girl at the booth was very friendly.. I gave my FF for her to play as well lol..
unfortunately the memorystick i have is slightly different then the slot on A77 (i dont really know what type it was LOL FAIL), thus I cant take some sample snaps of A77 on 16-50 and minolta 50.
met new random alpharians friends there lol. kasi poison my a850 also .. hehe..

dont u find it frustrating at times as the framing sometimes lari from what u want since you are actually seeing more coverage on the ovf?

e-jump: The 85mm f2.8 SAM is NOT a DT lens. It is a full fledged FF lens, so no, there's no issue with framing 'lari' as with using DT lens. All framing 'lari' is my own fault coz sometimes I'm shooting in a hurry. smile.gif

oh shoot. epic fail from me doh.gif
i have this assumptions of mine that SAM lenses are DT..

did you tried the a77
what do you think of the evf since you are currently onlarge pentaprism as well?
for me, its so much better than the a55, but i cannot get used to it la.. sooo.. different...

Oh there's the Sony 28-75mm F2.8 SAM, also a full-frame lens. smile.gif
hey albert
yep.. been missing for some time as i feel down that my pics doesnt turn out o be good.
Didnt work out for me at klpf as well. i think it has something to do with how i use the flash.
Was on F20 with a big diffuser. dont feel like using F58 as i dont want to be too flashy n stood out

QUOTE(kysham @ Oct 10 2011, 10:41 AM)
the a77's evf is a huge improvement over the a55's unit, but I think it is still behind the OVF of the A900 / A850 which are among the best out there for full frame cameras. it is bright and big, but just not as real as an OVF. and I would be a fool to expect it to be. An EVF is still an EVF, is still an EVF. But for normal shooting, I think it works brilliantly. I had shot for about 1-1/2 hours with the A77 in a studio environment and it worked beautifully. I adapted to it pretty quick. I don't think there should be any issues.  nod.gif

yes.. the EVF brightness is one of the thing.
i was told the brightness can be adjusted to our preference.. i think i didnt get used to it because the brigness is so different from the ambent. Maybe if theres an eyecup that can totally isolate my view from the ambient light, it may be different experience.
a77 is so much lighter than the ff, probably due to no pentaprism. IQ wise, im not one to commnt on that since i still shoot crappy images out of my ff..
the pewpewpew shutter sound.. LOL i find if funny n cute. I got the liking of a77 for the features it offers, but the main gripe for me is the AF point is not widely spread.
Not relly into video nor know much bout it, but the focus transition is so smooth. works nicely w/ my minolta 50 at widest i think F1.7(?).
i'll wait n see/test nex-7

yep.. its either hit it, or miss it.
but i think 135z lagi best, 60% longer focal w/ 1/3 stop slower brows.gif

noise at iso 1600 ;__;

anyway, im thinking to try sceneries n currently thinking my 28mm isnt wide enough esp when i shoot in 16:9.
aside then going full manual on samyang 14mm(distortions YO), what other option that i can look into, other than not so good market price of 1735 minolta(1.5k??!!)? im ok with slow lens as i'll be shooting F8 anyway (fast lens would be bonus)
*1635Z is out of my league.

thanks for the opinions albnok n lwliam on Sigma12-24 II and Minolta1735F2.8-4.
But Sigma 12-24 II is not available for alpha, and ver 1 seems to be... nor sharp on FFn yellowish tints.
As for 1735F2.8-4, what kind of 'should be ok' price if i were to find on used market? i saw one on alphanatics for rm1.55k, but it doesnt seem to be good price if i were to convert prices on ebay for reference (circa 3xxusd)
