The GREATEST Worldwide Design Contest Ever!!! - For The Sport of Paintball

user posted image

PALS is proud to present “The GREATEST Worldwide Design Contest Ever - For The Sport of Paintball” that has never been seen or done before in the world. Here at PALS, we are always working very hard to introduce paintball as a sport positively to the general public. Now, you will have a chance to join in our efforts and be part of this historic initiative.

Everyone has heard of custom paintball designs for jerseys, goggles, loaders, markers, etc. We are taking it a step further – to another level – Fancy seeing your paintball inspired design on an aircraft?!?!

The time has come for us to do the impossible – transfer the most mind blowing paintball graphics right on to aircraft livery!!! Now you can be the designer of a brand new aircraft!!

To celebrate the partnership between AirAsia and PALS, and AirAsia’s involvement into the sport of paintball in 2011, PALS would like to invite you to design a plane with paintball elements by creating your own, unique PALS paintball centric design using the A320 airplane template we’ve provided on the entry form below. All entries must be submitted by Tuesday, November 1st, 2011 (10 days before the Paintball World Cup Asia 2011). The winning design that is chosen will be painted onto one of AirAsia’s aircraft.

How it works?

1.) Download the A320 airplane template from the pdf HERE (http://www.paintballworldcupasia.com/airas...-Entry-Form.pdf)

2.) Design your PALS and Paintball inspired plane. Judging will be based on originality, creativity and the ability to express PALS and Paintball in a positive manner.

3.) You must include the AirAsia company logo and PALS primary logo as part of your design. Download your AIRASIA and PALS logos below:

AIRASIA LOGO - http://www.paintballworldcupasia.com/airas...IRASIA-LOGO.pdf

PALS LOGO- http://www.paintballworldcupasia.com/airasia/PALS-LOGO.pdf

You can utilize the entire area of the plane as shown on the official entry form, for your artwork (and don’t worry about the windows — draw right over them!)

4.) Submit your artwork electronically form to this email address: paintballplanecontest@palseries.org

5.) Please title the email “AIRASIA PALS - Paintball Plane Contest”. Electronic entries must be no larger than four (4) MBs and must be submitted as a PDF (together with a JPG image for reference).

6.) Completed entry forms and artwork must be emailed by Tuesday, November 1st, 2011 to be eligible for consideration. No other material sent along with the Official Entry Form will be accepted.

7.) Submitted entries will be featured in the photo gallery of : http://www.facebook.com/paintballworldcupasia

8.) There will be an online voting competition on Facebook whereby the Top 10 Most Popular Designs will be the first to be shown to the judge(s) and for “honourable mention designs”.

Step 1: Click “Like” on http://www.facebook.com/paintballworldcupasia
Step 2: Go to the gallery related to this contest.
Step 3: Click “Like” on your favourite design.

Prize Information

The judge(s) will select:

1.) One (1) Grand Prize winner from among all eligible entries. AirAsia will replicate the artwork of the Grand Prize winner on one of its aircraft upon receiving final approval. The Grand Prize winner will also receive USD 1,000 cash courtesy of PALS. (The prize will only be released upon the aircraft being launched with the new design during the official press conference).

2.) The Second and Third Place Winner will receive one (1) paintball loader (Valken V-Max loader) each. The prize will only be released upon the aircraft being launched with the new design during the official press conference.

*Note: In the event that no winners are chosen, the top three designs will receive (1) paintball loader (Valken V-Max loader) each.

Tony Fernandes, AirAsia and The Paintball World Cup Asia

Tan Sri Tony Fernandes graced The Paintball World Cup Asia back in year 2010 as the Guest of Honour. He participated in the all-star demo. match
and also witnessed the Division 1 Finals between Team Datis-Iran and Team Bad Element-France.

Tan Sri Tony Fernandes is a strong supporter of The Paintball World Cup Asia 2011 from the corporate sector and has shown keen interest to develop the sport of paintball together with PALS.

AirAsia plans to mark its first landing in the United States Monday by flying an Oakland Raiders branded jet into Oakland Airport, although it still has not date for actual service in the U.S. The flight, from Kuala Lumpur, is scheduled to land in time for the Raiders’ season opener against the San Diego Chargers.

The Airbus A340 is named “Xcellence,” to match the Raiders’ motto “Commitment to Excellence,” AirAsia said. The “X” part also refers to AirAsia X, which bills itself as “the world’s only low-cost long-haul carrier,” and is negotiating with U.S. airports for possible routes into the country.
“U.S. destinations are very much in our long term plans, as demonstrated by our recent order for 10 Airbus A350 aircraft,” AirAsia X Chief Executive Azran Osman-Rani said in a news release. “These planes would be delivered beginning 2016. However, we are exploring ways of commencing flights to the U.S. much earlier than 2016.”

Meeting of two great visionaries – What’s in store for paintball?

user posted image

Malaysian paintball supremo Paul Lam sprung a surprise on the local paintball community with a facebook post this evening, uploading a picture of himself and former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad having what seemed to be a very animated chat – tagged Legendary!

With the World Cup of Asia (WCA) in November scheduled to be held in Langkawi – the duty-free island that has always been close to Tun’s heart – one wonders what the discussion was about.

Knowing Paul, I suspect it will be something massive and most likely to do with the WCA. If whatever Paul has cooked up does come to fruition, it will again be testament to the man’s drive to promote and grow the sport over the years. Sometimes Paul scares me with his obsession. This picture more or less proves the man himself is Legendary!

EXCLUSIVE - Paul Lam & Syed Mohd Johan Rizal's Meeting with Tun Dr Mahathir

Last week the paintball fraternity in Asia saw pictures of Paul Lam who is the head of the MPOC-Malaysia Paintball Official Circuit and PALS-Paintball Asia League Series in a meeting with Tun Dr Mahathir former Prime Minister of Malaysia. It was indeed a historic meeting between an icon of Malaysian Paintball with an icon of Malaysia in Tun Dr Mahathir.

I am sure many of you would be curious to as what transpired in the meeting so I asked Paul Lam what they talked about. So here is an exclusive interview to what transpired at that meeting.

--------------------------------------------------------

Hi Paul, it was great to see pictures of your meeting with Tun Dr Mahathir. Every paintballer in Malaysia and the region is excited about the news of this historic meeting. We all want to know what the meeting was about and what transpired?

PAUL: The meeting held mainly because the [World Cup Asia and Command & Conquer] events are held on Langkawi Island which has been his pet project* since day 1.

It was also to get the acknowledgement from arguably one of the most intelligent and influential statesman from Malaysia for our sport of paintball. If Tun Di Mahathir can see the positive elements of our sport, I am hopeful that all others would too. Imagine Lee Kuan Yew** as the patron of the Singapore Paintball Series - that would help the sport in Singapore right?

It also came to my attention recently that Tun Dr Mahathir actually mentioned paintball as a training tool for military training way before the first paintball center in the country was set up. This idea was called off after a feasibility study and largely forgotten. I thought what better opportunity than now to help make his vision come through than this November - hence the Command & Conquer event in conjunction with the World Cup Asia 2011 in Langkawi.

What did paintball gained from this meeting with Tun Dr Mahathir?

PAUL: When I looked him in the eye at the end of the chat to reconfirm his agreement to be the Patron of the Command & Conquer event...he said "yes" with a twinkle in his eye. We shook hands for the second time and this is another mission I must and would love to deliver well. It is a great honour for our sport!

Thank you Paul and we all hope that World Cup Asia will live up to every one's expectations.
