Thinking of buying SGS2. But I don't like the SGS2 widgets. So today I went to a Samsung store and tested out installing some HTC Sense-like widgets...

Yes..you can just install whatever you like..even Sense 3.0 lock screen..  nod.gif

Out of curiosity, does installing the Sense 3.0 lock screen require root access?
Is it using WidgetLocker to install?

IF it's really a must for u to be HTC like , u might wanna check this out .... Do keep it mind its WIP ( work in progress ) , no eta .

Ah, I don't actually want to flash a whole new ROM just to get Sense. At most I'll just use a customized Launcher and Theme.

Also the actual Sense ROMs are bloated. The one in the HTC Sensation with 3D effects is kinda laggy.

Dunno why they didn't make all the Galaxy S2 like US version.. All touch buttons..

I actually prefer hardware buttons. Tactile feedback in the dark and all that.

Might be a tad late, but for those that have not read Anand's review on the SGS2 yet, please read it:

Makes you proud to own an SGS2 smile.gif

I read it yesterday. Very detailed review.

He also mentions the "yellow" screen problem:

QUOTE
Let’s start with the first one, which a lot of users have dubbed ‘yellowing’. For a while now we’ve been gathering white point data at various brightness levels. Obviously we did the same thing with SGS2.

I’ve measured brightness (full-screen white and black) and white point at six brightness levels on the SGS2. Before I measured the SGS2, I noted that subjectively there’s the most visible change in color temperature after you dip below the 50% brightness mark.
