if without rooting, is it this phone really useless?

1. If the phone need rooting, why did Samsung actually release this phone?
2. Have you read that people saying phone not rooted and is useless?

Therefore, if you want 'extra' flexibility, then rooting is your choice.

i was just wondering that my phone is kinda battery draining.. and i think with the help of rooting and flash rom, it helps in the battery life and even performance.. for me the performance is really fine, but the battery...

I'm a little curious on how you guys manage the contacts which have linkage to facebook contacts. In normal case, contacts with same name (match the name in facebook profile) will get linked automatically but we will have to manually join the contacts if the names are not the same. I know Google does not store the linkage info, so to avoid manually joining them again in the future (reason: change phone/rom), one could use Titanium Backup to backup and restore the whole contact data including the linkage of contacts. Now I'm wondering, will it works every time (across different rom/phone)? Or is there any better way of doing this?

I've been using TB to backup and restore my contact (to preserve the linkage) all these while but worry that it will not work one day coz I've manually joined quite a lot of contacts.    So you meant the contact exported to sd card will have the linking info also? hmm...gonna try that then...

Wiping=factory reset? So if i backup with titanium backup, then it did infact wipe, i can still restore everything?

One more thing, is it normal for the battery to drop from full to 65% after 20 minutes of games,30 minutes of 3g web browsing and 30 minutes of wifi web browsing? Straight usage.

i also notice that the network signal hardly maintain at H+ when i didn't surf the net, but when using the internet actively it will remain at H+. i believe its a way of  conserving ur battery life though. anyway r u using stock rom and which modem version r u using? give more information so that we can provide some opinion

Need to check with you guys are you facing any "Network Jump" issue..

from H to 3G.. then to E and so on.. it just didn't stay even when you are static (not moving).

It does affect my surfing when the network jumps, the loading will stuck for a second then it moves again.

Probably people will say issue with Network including Samsung Cust. Service.

But my friend's HTC and Iphone are so stable that the network barely moves with DiGI network.
Yesterday while in Kuchai Lama Avenue, I couldn't get 3G Signal in the shop while my friend's Iphone could get 3G very stable.

I set the Network option to WCDMA ONLY... and No Network Found at all.

Kindly advise what do you think?

May need to send my phone to Samsung for checking.

how come when i checked at my task manager, theres no apps running but when i checked at advenced task killer theres a lot of apps running. after i kill or force close the task and apps, few minutes after that i check it the closed apps is running again without my permission.

i really tired setting mms,even auto setting from celcom,3 manual setting from this forum,my 3g always keep sleeping.i can download n received but its take  time,i must on n off data,flight mode even restart fon then i can download it.almost a week reading in this forum how to setting it,try everything but result was the same,even uncle benney said his tired to explain the same thing to every 1 here so now i dono who should i aski dono y my data packet keep sleeping,i ddnt use any antivrs or saving batt app

yeah lets just hope that. because i was torn in between sensation n sgs2 haha and finally got this but looking at sensation dev really omg. so fast! and to think sgs2 was unlocked and cm7 team were given few! haha that last 2 made me buy sgs2 but hopefully like u said, there will be more to come. just reached US today right?
