Guys, I'm facing a headache with my SGS2 gps. Currently using Papago X5 and the satellite locking time takes more than 30 min and still couldn't lock.
Could it be any possible that my gps module got problem? Usually for an stock (unrooted) phone, it takes how long to get the satellite lock? Please advice how to overcome this problem. TQ..... |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Sep 8 2011, 05:26 PM) just found out i know a few people who have a smartphone but is not actually using any data plan. they disable data on the phone. Well , it's a personal choice . Some ppl uses smartphone coz they want the features like gaming , browsing , etc yet they feel its a waste to have a data plan when they r not being fully utilized . Some of my frens uses the basic maxis plan of 500mb yet end of the billing cycle , not even 100mb is used since they r on wifi most of the time . . . In those group is where u find ppl like u mentioned .they said with wifi all over the place (office, home, coffeeshops), no need for data plan. just wondering... how many sgs2 users are also like that? can ar? i find that a bit kiasu, no? no offence to those who are doing this... but i tot smartphone is like having data on the go... so for these ppl... cannot really viber in bus, lrt until you reach a place with wifi... no? Oh ya , forgot to mentioned ..... I got a fren who recently purchased a Ferrari 430 but he doesn't go above 110kmh on the highway coz it's " against the law " This post has been edited by Noobi3: Sep 8 2011, 05:32 PM |

I'm using Papago too! what i'm doing right now is to turn on google maps first, make sure the GPS is connected then switch to Papago. Could it be any possible that my gps module got problem? Everytime works like a charm, except without a car dock & charger, 30 minutes of navigation drains 70% of my batt! |

It's common, especially among students, most of my friends bought smartphone without contract don't bother to get it,as it's not cheap and don't want to spend >RM100 on internet itself (they subscribe internet connection at rented houses).they said with wifi all over the place (office, home, coffeeshops), no need for data plan. just wondering... how many sgs2 users are also like that? can ar? i find that a bit kiasu, no? no offence to those who are doing this... but i tot smartphone is like having data on the go... so for these ppl... cannot really viber in bus, lrt until you reach a place with wifi... no? |

I on wifi the whole day they said with wifi all over the place (office, home, coffeeshops), no need for data plan. just wondering... how many sgs2 users are also like that? can ar? i find that a bit kiasu, no? no offence to those who are doing this... but i tot smartphone is like having data on the go... so for these ppl... cannot really viber in bus, lrt until you reach a place with wifi... no? I'm only out of wifi areas occasionally, thus I'm using prepaid Maxis data which keeps me connected for "in-between" wifi areas. I do not consider myself having a data plan as it's prepaid and can be stopped anytime. And with all the push services now, no problem being disconnected for awhile. It is up to the end users what they wish to do with their phone, I don't think anyone should be judged. It is their phone, not yours. |
