i'm thinking now, in the case of soaring prices, RM500 is a big number or whether it is a small amount to create a website. . .
If this is you, would you will try to spend RM500 for your business or company, to create a website?

If you want free, then you need to learn up how to use some software like mambo, wordpress or drupal...

I've helped my friend's relative set up a business website before using Wordpress, fairly easy to use, you only need the correct theme for it to look professional with javascript slideshows, and of course decent html knowledge (a bit higher than your average blogspot user). Wordpress is a powerful CMS, and you're doing this by yourself so it's basically free (excluding cost for your server+domain).
However, if you opt for fanciful designs or you want something custom-made for your taste, then by all means hire a web designer to make what you want, and since you're paying you can ask him/her to do whatever you like, that's the advantage of paying.

QUOTE(H4XF4XTOR @ Sep 2 2011, 11:53 PM) yes, compared to some people who uses 1.8mil just to cr8 an fb page lol. I believe the actual truth behind that news is that the 1.8m involves other expenses besides the fb page 'administration fees', nevertheless it's still very high, who knows what happens behind the scenes

RM 500 is enough for a small website for small company or person, created through any CMS. Not a bad price at all.

Price of building a website depends on what kind of websites and which platform you built it on. Price for wordpress and joomla is different and RM500 is on the low side.
Although keep in mind there are a lot of people who claims they can build you a good nice looking websites with that kind of budget and not all of them passed. Means, some will use their basic knowledge thinking they are good with it while the fact is that you are better off hiring truly professional website builder to do the job mostly overseas.
I know a group of people who just worked with Wordpress and Joomla for a year or two and claims they have vast experience in them and charges $250 (that's dollar) for building a website based on these 2 platform with nulled theme and plugins.
So, back to the question, RM500 enough? It is if you think the guys you're hiring is truly good in what they do. Like anything, research before committing is a good practice so research the price, company etc before deciding. Don't just based on what people are telling you.
Cheers.

If you do have time, do it yourself, if not, I guess 500 is not a big deal. Just do it.
