Most likely just a dead LED, which isn't that uncommon for blue LED that can't be turned off.

I pretty much noob in the inner working of fiio e10, if the amp component failed, it should have no sound at all right for the headphone jack? Pretty weird to have the led burnt out and taking the volume too. I only turned up the volume knob at 1-2 for most of the time and didnt try to suddenly turned the knob to 8. hmm.gif . Been googling around and found that the amp only for the headphone jack while line out only went to the DAC chip, true? Thanks for responding, looks like the thread quite desolate now.

Yes, if the actual amp component fails, it very likely will have no sound output at all. The LED is independent of the volume knob, so I'll suspect your volume control comes from elsewhere. Might want to check your gain switch and software volume setting as well.

Both the headphone-out and line-out comes from the DAC. but there is no amplification for the line-out, where the headphone-out has a dedicated headphone amp inside.

anything will have lifespan, it should be ok unless you are expecting it to last the next 10 years sweat.gif
