It only drops it if you are using wireless N. Try changing your router to a Wireless G. This is an Apple issue and not constrained just to the iPad 2. All my Apple products dropped their wifi f I am Usin an N router ( the wifi icon shows that it s connected but you can't surf the net)

But the problem is my company not allow us to simply change the router setting and now mostly I face the problem at my office or outside hotspot which you can't really change the router setting. Why apple unable to solve this simple problem and keep it this problem just like that without trying to solve it??? Very dissapointed to apple now.

Never comes across the dropping problem but felt the wifi signal are much weaker compares to my iPad 1. Both are with the same 4.3.3 FW but iPad 2 tends to have weaker signal bars and slower while connecting to my rwifi router.

Can't really help there. That's why I jailbreak so at least switching off and on the wifi is just one touch. What I have been doing is basically that, if I see any of my apple products stops connecting to the net, I just switched the wifi on/off and it should be okay. It's a hassle but I also cannot change my unifi router as this router I have is way better than the stock unifi router.

I have the same problem too. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it is quite annoying. I would have to go to settings, disable wifi, exit, enter settings again, enable wifi. Then the signal would be okay again.

I'm using Unifi at home. Not sure if my Unifi is N or G.

Happens to my iPad2 also, and I'm using a TPLink Wireless-N router at home. So guess it's true.

Apple product does not like N routers. Here in my house, I put the N router in the store room and replaced it with the rock solid Linksys G router. My fibre optic is 20Mbps so I have enough bandwidth on the router even though it's only G.

In Malaysia, cannot do much coz I cannot use the stock unifi router and have replaced it with the TPLink N router.

I'm using TPLink in Malaysia as well as the router is waayyyyyyyy better than the stupid D-Link unifi router but it's an N router. After a week or so the DC starts happening again but I can't complain much. The default router is just an option that cannot be taken so regular DC on my Apple product is the price.

I don't get the DC on my G router over here so it's Wireless G for me here.
