Dunno why I still feel that Frimpong was unconvincing altho he has a haircut like Balotelli.

unconvincing is an understatement. to me he was the most frustrating to watch in the game vs swansea. unnecessary fouls and mis-passes and generally dont link up well with the rest of the team.

maybe he is still new and trying too hard to impress

My opinion:

1)Play either Arshavin or Walcott. Not both. They are both solo players and cant create much thats why u see them wasting balls with their runs. Just one guy will be enough to do the same thing.

2)get vanpersie a strike partner, chamakh/gervinho? I dont know how gervinho plays, but chamakh is a box finisher...Vanpersie can be the target man to hold up ball and create the chances for his chamakh. Like rooney/hernandez partnership.

3)Arteta to pull the strings from deeper position...a true central midfielder, dictating tempo and supplying creative through passes to runners like walcott/arshavin or directly to the forwards.

4)Ramsey to provide creative mixes in the midfield partnering Arteta

5)Frimpong to sit behind the defence and DONT hang on too long to balls, rather play safe passes to central mids.

6)Benayoun - super sub

7) sagna and santos to bomb forward for wide plays.

Formation 4-1-2-1-2 narrow.

Just my 2 cents.

Oh yeah and just want to add.

In the game vs swansea, metseker looks darn solid with excellent composure and great tackling skills. does his job without much fuss. Voted for him in this thread's poll.

Cant wait for vermaelen to return. Koscielny is a 50/50 with some good tackling and pace, but is very prone to making mistakes like short passing directly to the opponent. everytime he gets the ball i feel nervous (kinda like my reaction to frimpong).

Gibbs is showing potential, but i cant wait to see santos. maybe in the CL we'll get a glimpse of this new signing.

Once the groundwork and teamwork has been solidify, Arsenal with their current squad, should be good enough to challenge the top 4 making this season even more nail biting than the last.

actually in terms of defending, koscielny did better than per
throughout the game, kosc made 5 tackles and won 4 of them; per made 2 and only won once
and kosc successfully made 3 interceptions vs per 1
*
if thats the case then i stand corrected on my valuation of koscielny....but from my own observation (could be bias), i'm pretty sure per successfully tackled more than once vs swansea.

djourou, ramsey, sceny (the goalie la), frimpong, are examples of players who arent ready to win any trophies....seriously.

problem with arsenal right now is when lead 1 goal straight go defend dont want to attack anymore then when opponent score equalizer then arsenal want to attack this will surely lead to counter attack for opponent to score more goal if only Arsenal go all attack till they got 3-0 or more like what MU and MC r doing right now maybe this will never happened
*
er...i dont think they played defensively after leading 1-0. However they were guilty of complacency...thiinkging they can just pwn blackburn from then on.
