Ramsey had the whole field and he passes to the spot with the only defender. Absolutely shocking.

With both Song, Rosicky and Wilshere back soon I see it very hard for Ramsey to get a game. He looked very good in pre-season but has been very very poor when we get to the real important matches.
*
In fairness, it was using his left foot... But the counter argument to that is, he was under no pressure, he could have switched to his right.

Anyway, in wasn't the most convincing of wins like most of you said. Nobody played really well, but nobody played really badly as well apart from a few shockers by Ramsey and Walcott.

I was impressed with Arteta and there are similar qualities as Cesc, try as you may not to compare them. I reckon his pass completion was close to 100% until about the 60th minute mark when Swansea suddenly burst back into life.

Benayoun looks to be an energetic and high work rate player and would be a welcome change to the more languid Arshavin IMHO. Most of my Liverpool and Chelsea friends says he's a quality player and I look forward to seeing him more this season.

Now onto Mertesacker... For a guy who's 6'6", you'd expect him to at least try to head clear the corner that Szcz flapped at (he had not choice but to do so). Having said that, he did put in a great challenge in our area in the first half and his long legs did come in handy when Swansea broke at speed at one point. Jury's still out on this one, but I would think he'd be a good foil for Vermaelen's aggressive approach.

Koscielny was my MOTM though. Probably SZCZ deserved it too, but too many times adi he got MOTM............. Which says a lot about the other 10 players!

Slim win I say, but 3 points is 3 points.

There have been many things happened recently a big win would be the boost expected from the match, but oh well...
Our players; especially those regulars have to buck up.
Walcott showed some good runs and that remained nothing but, run.
Surprisingly, Ramsey was poor despite his MOTM performance with his national side.
RvP was poor IMHO, but I do not really know why sad.gif
Better players were like Kos, Woj, Arteta, Sagna.

I think Frimpong was doing fine, some clumsy moments but overall doing good in critical situation. a good backup to Song but too bad both will be involved in AFC sad.gif Coquelin was fine too but he's still far too raw to be a regular for us.

Gibbs were like on and off. His crosses were good, especially the one to Chamakh... but his defense is shakehead.gif

I hate to sound like AW, but RvP probably tired from international matches.

I fetl Sagna was given a rough time by Scott Sinclair. That Sinclair looks like he could play in a mid table team like Bolton or Everton. Quality stuff from him today.

Gibbs... Aiyo... His touches also were poor today, but in fairness he just got back from injury. I would have liked to see Santos come in for the last 15 minutes though...

Can't believe fans asking for a big win against swansea. As I told u before the game, swansea is a good side. Very much attacking football and very discipline defense. 1-0 ? I'll take it. Clean sheet n fluke goal so what? As if the invincible also went the whole season unbeaten by scoring at will!! No they didn't!

B-b-b-but... We used to make mince meat out of teams who actually tried to play football cry.gif

We only had problems against bus parkers like Stoke and the old Bolton.

If the final 10 minutes is not further evidence we need 4-4-2, I don't know what is...

+1.we can't play 4231 anymore.it's too predictable now.

The lone striker position requires an all-action forward in the vein of Drogba and Dzeko. It worked for us when we had Adepoyo, but with RVP, he just doesn't have those qualities required.

No doubt he's been scoring, but I feel he's best when playing with a strike partner.
