QUOTE(ayanami_tard @ Sep 2 2011, 09:34 PM) rooney is not out and out striker like ronaldo...more like AM with option to go on final third.his magnificent performance in 09/10 really made people confused(even in United camp) well, who cares what type of striker he was. his goal scoring, build up play, freekicks/ set piece, pin point pass, first touch yada yada has proved that he is one a hell of football player.to give an analogy,Rooney is somewhere between Ronaldo and Messi.the only person that is in the same mould(and quality) as Rooney right now is his own twin mother from another mother,Tevez how he'd become a flop in recent in WC remain a mystery |

I sincerely think it's Torres in his Liverpool days. The most prolific out and out striker I have ever seen(after luiz ronaldo that is)

I'm a manchester united fan but i think rooney not up to that standard yet(Due to the role he's always deployed as well). I'd say Thierry Henry would be somewhere near luiz ronaldo's standard if not better. Ruud Van Nistelrooy's finishing was one of the best around, but i think the position he was deployed(mainly a targetman) we actually didn't see much of him besides scoring goals. Zlatan Ibrahimovic definitely one of the most skill football players you can find out there(i only watch him on youtube tho)....his finishing wise im not sure though.

Lots of great names there but if we are to keep to the thread title i.e. "The best striker u've seen after luiz ronaldo?", half these names are invalid. I imagine this mean strikers who are still playing after Fat Ron retired which is pretty recent.

Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima
honestly, i can do all ronaldo tricks.. but i can't defeat his speed, i can't defeat his stamina, i also got some problem with off-boal and my shooting is not always accurate especially when i feel tired.. i have a very serious asthma since very small child, sometime when i push too hard, blood coming out from my mouth and my nose.. what a fate. Well, we can't deny that Ronaldo's peak came very very early and unfortunately lasted very very short. Surely it is valid to judge based on players performing after 1998.
Ronaldo circa 2002 was nowhere near as good as his previous self but good nonetheless. However, the likes of Shevchenko and Henry were better during that time, from my POV at least. |
