I feel sad for Arsenal fans - told my gunner colleague in July (when the Fab transfer saga was very hot) that the Arsenal owners are into profits more than winning trophies. I believe they have the money but they are very, very tight-fisted.. and Wenger is just going along with his bosses.

It's very common for manager's bonuses to be based on company's bottomline and I think Wenger is more interested in accumulating his retirement fund.

The thrashing may be a blessing in disguise in that now the owners will have no choice but to remedy this situation. If I'm right about their objective, then so long as Arsenal gets into the CL, they won't care for much else.
