Comment From JOHN FREeDIE
TalkSPORT is hearing Arsenal have turned their attention to Yossi Benayoun, with a deal for Mikel Arteta looking very unlikely

oh.. if FA dont let how le lolz... i would hope marvin martin, M'Villa come in..
*
bro...look at the situation realisticaly...wenger has sold 3 main player and 2 of them are top class i would say world class...and he collect what? like 70 mil pound total? plus transfer kitty for the season that could mean up to 100mil....

tell me in the past 5 season have wenger done any single signings worth more than 25 mil?? his way of spending for player is equivalent to a mid table team/relegation battling team....

as i said before there is a price to pay to be at the top of the summit but arsene simply didn't want to commit on those...
what saves him all this years is that he have the eyes to spot a real gem/diamond in the rough for young players with huge potential and buy them on the cheap... dats what saves him to top 4 all these years...

it isn't the issues of they don't have money to spend...in fact they don't want to spend.... with the crisis mounting especially in squad depth and a real quality player unavailable....it is ok sometime to overs[end to save ur club....but no! arsene wenger still is wenger...he will never change....

with Man City and Liverpool improving massively...come end of the season with wenger effort on the trsfr market... he should be thankful if he can even qualify for th 4th spot in champs league....

QUOTE(kazek @ Sep 1 2011, 03:23 AM)
All this stuff you base on what ? Guess work ?

Do you know the whole story ? How do you know it isn't the Arsenal board that refuses to splash the cash.
Obviously Arsene Wenger isn't going to come out and say the board wont let me spend. He is too professional to stoop that low. He has to protect his employers.

Everything said by managers in the media is not entirely true. It is mostly to feed the media that are always looking for a scoop.

Unless you have some inside information on how Arsenal, Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal board operate, you can't come to conclusions such as Wenger doesn't want to spend. You know nothing.
*
i don't have any data to prove to you bro... But look at this from a neutral point of view...look at all the potential top player names in world football rite now...are they avaiable on the cheap? how much is pastore? how much is alexis sanchez? how much is Kaka? Ronaldo? Messi? if arsene wenger. how much are arsene wenger willing to bid for those kind of player? no more than 20 mil pound??? thats gotta be a joke. the world arsene wenger currently leaves on is scarcity...tell me why he miss the deal on Juan Mata to Chelsea? chelsea willing to bid for 26mil pound as they value him highly...but arsene just hoo haa tracking him all this time but dont have the balls to splash the cash on him....

QUOTE(sakaito @ Sep 1 2011, 03:34 AM)
that's why he didn't bid for those big name players la bro... chill la... wtf is wrong with u... so what Chelsea got Mata for 26mil? good for u la... for all we know, the $$ wasn't available to wenger to even make a move above 20mil..

anyway, here's a prayer showing how fickle arsenal fans can be... just for lols..... ehehe

I know what you like.
I know what you want.
You want a signing.
And when you get one, you’ll wish it was taller.
And if it’s taller, you’ll wish it was faster.
And if it’s faster, you’ll wish it was stronger
And if it’s stronger, you’ll wish it was more experienced.
And if it’s experienced, you’ll wish it was better with the ball.
And if it’s good with the ball, you’ll wish it was English.
And if it’s English, you’ll wish it was better value.
And if it’s a good value, you’ll wish it played a different position.
You won’t get consensus from Arsenal supporters until the club sign XI new players in every position, all world class, youth prospects, on the cheap, who are tall, powerful, adept with the ball, experienced, English, and childhood supporters of the club.
And then you’ll wish we hadn’t signed so many players.
*
im just making a point bro... arsene wenger is good in economics...he make sure he doesn't overspent on anything. for example: Ronaldo for 80 mil pound is astronomical. torres for 50 mil pound is outrages...but does wenger stop n think for a while how he can afford those kind of player instead of mentioning upfront they dont have the cash?? FYI this players are world icon and marketing icon. ronaldo product endorsement/ambassador/sponsorship per year alone is worth more than 25 mil++ pound. did you know whatever ronaldo makes on those, real take 40% of it? same goes to torres, and all big names signings.... by calculating it this way, doesn't theri trsfr fees cant bee paid by their marketing prowess themselves and break even within 2-5 years. doesn't it make you think 'wow, if i factor all this, their trsfr fees is really not that high as well'... you do the math. to me, wenger is a good economist, but never really an outstandingbusinessman/ enterpreneur/capitalist

QUOTE(slcroy @ Sep 1 2011, 04:06 AM)

19.41 Just to keep you up to speed, Arsène Wenger has proved once again that there is a fine line between stubbornness and self-harm. On the verge of signing Mikel Arteta, Everton, showing the understandable spirit of Robin Hood in trying to reapportion wealth from the rich (and desperate) to the poor (and even more desperate), asked for a bit more than the Spaniard is actually worth. Wenger, who has an economics degree and should know better the effect on prices of supply and demand, refused to bend and the deal fell down like Joey Barton having his ear tickled.

haiz...

see... as i said, i dont think it's the player wage that we got a problem with. it's the transfer fee.

hopefully arsenal can work out something good for both parties. smile.gif

Chris Murphy: We still expect that one to go through - but Arteta is the one that will save Wenger some flak from the fans.

Chris Murphy: “We are delighted to welcome Per Mertesacker to the club," said Arsene Wenger. "He is a German international with vast experience and strength and is good on the floor and in the air. I believe he will be well-suited to the Premier League and a tremendous asset to the team."
