QUOTE(curiouso9 @ Aug 31 2011, 02:32 PM) just want to divide between user ... stock rom /custom rom.. if people dont need this thread. i will close it down. QUOTE(alexysc @ Aug 31 2011, 05:10 PM) No, don't close it down as many are using cyanogenmod now. Yes it's good to separate stock and custom rom so there won't be confusion and don close it. all flashing and upgrading discuss here. more easier. any new update can post at 1st page.people will know where to get assistance correctly. You have my support, Curioso. really appreciate it. |

You can use your own new folders to categorize you drawer apps. thanks Added on September 11, 2011, 10:18 am It's more or less the same without hotfix, but the volume control in stock radio is fixed. Yup, Psyke's phone bricked already. He's send to repair. |

QUOTE(alexysc @ Sep 19 2011, 12:25 AM) Don't get your meaning..... do you want to upgrade to Froyo 2.2 or to CM 7.1 ? Please provide your current rom version so that we can offer you the proper guide to upgrade. do i need to back up if i upgrade from V1.2 to V1.3 or just install hotfix can already?Added on September 19, 2011, 1:29 amCM v.1.3 Hotfix 2 RELEASED [18 September 2011]: Boot: removed custom lowmemorykiller tweaks; kernel: various updates (smartassV2, TinyRCU, Simple and V® IO schedulers), bugfixes and optimizations, changed default scheduler to Simple IO; libaudio: code cleanup and reduced overall FM volume. http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/%2...alaxy5%27-port/ Added on September 19, 2011, 1:09 pmReview : Hotfix 2 [18 September 2011]: Boot: removed custom lowmemorykiller tweaks; kernel: various updates (smartassV2, TinyRCU, Simple and V® IO schedulers), bugfixes and optimizations, changed default scheduler to Simple IO; libaudio: code cleanup and reduced overall FM volume; Framework: enabled hardware-accelerated 2D rendering. Great noticeable improvements on : 1) Screen lock - formerly it was quite lag and now it's smooth. 2) Switching screens - improvement in speed while switching between home screens which is fast. 3) Battery usage - last longer. 4) FM radio volume reduced. 5) Apps loading faster with screen more responsive. My opinion : Highly recommended to install this Hotfix2. |

QUOTE(alexysc @ Sep 19 2011, 11:16 PM) 1) It's advisable to backup with CWM first...just in case if anything goes wrong, you can always restore back. thanks bro. btw guys got any good video player which can play many types of video format? and any music player also. 2) If you're upgrading from v.1.2, you need to install all the three files - v.1.3 , hotfix2 and gapps in sequence. 3) If you're already with v.1.3, just install the hotfix2 only. 4) For all the above, data wipe is not necessary. |

QUOTE(alexysc @ Sep 29 2011, 12:22 AM) Set CPU : Min 245MHz and Max 729Mhz. I do install S97ramscript but still the same. I have set the cpu performance to according on your setting. Governor : Ondemand. Disable : Dithering surface VM heap size : 24m Did you install s97ramscript? Added on September 29, 2011, 1:13 pm QUOTE(alexysc @ Sep 24 2011, 12:25 PM) Simple2Ext (S2E) Quick Guide: Please make sure that you use ROM version v1.4 or later, as it includes a patch to prevent S2E's aggressive filesystem tweaks that cause corruption.•[Optional, but highly recommended]. To make absolutely sure that your /sd-ext partition is not corrupt, manually format the /sd-ext partition: Code: adb shell mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 or using Terminal Emulator : #su #mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 •Install S2E from Market. •Open S2E, click the Menu key -> Settings. Enable "Mount as ext4" (mandatory). Do not select "Set read buffer", as the default value of 2MB will cause extreme lag on our phone. My port already sets the buffer to a more conservative value of 256KB, which I have found works best. •Close the app and reboot. •Open S2E again, select the folders you wish to place on the SD card. I recommend that you don't move the "Download cache" folder, as it makes more sense to leave it in internal storage (/data). •Changes will take effect on the next reboot. Note: your dalvik cache will be rebuilt, so this reboot will be slower than usual. NOTE : For those who are currently using Link2sd and want to use S2E, I would recommend : 1) Install the new version v.1.4 first (remember, for new rom versions, you need to install again - v.1.4 , hotfix (if any) and gapps. 2) After installing, using CWM, back it up. (Just in case S2E gives you problem or doesn't work). 3) Unistall Link2sd and follow the procedure/guide as above given by Psyke. Enjoy! EDIT : After installing the new rom version, the S97ramscript will have to be re-applied/inserted again. -I installed the S2E from market but in the mean time i am still using the link 2 sd. -then i open S2E, click the Menu key -> Settings. Enable "Mount as ext4" (mandatory) -then i reboot. -after reboot my device show low disk space. -then i uninstall the link2sd. and it takes years~~~ how ah? i got uninstall the link2sd 1st before i start to use S2E but also take years. no should i fully uninstall the link2sd 1st and then install back S2E? Still in the process of uninstalling link2sd. This post has been edited by vccy: Sep 29 2011, 01:13 PM |

QUOTE(alexysc @ Oct 5 2011, 10:06 PM) Not to worry. Everything is fine for you. thank you alex. But for the dual touch, i go read the forum and i am not sure how to activate it and use it. quite confuse. did you manage to use it? Added on October 5, 2011, 9:42 pmGuys, Latest hofix release : Installation guide : 1) Download the hofix1 zip 2) Open CWM. 3) Instal zip from sdcard. 4) choose zip from sdcard. 5) select > galaxy5-v1.5-hotfix1.zip 6) reboot 7) DONE! (No need data wipe nor install anything else). CM v.1.5 Hotfix 1 [5 October 2011]: Kernel: kernel source re-patched from vanilla to avoid unnecessary/unstable patches; fixed reboot/reboot to recovery hangs; optimized size of kernel modules to free extra RAM; upgraded to newer FSR drivers from I5500XWJQ3 ROM; reverted to stable version of compcache (ramzswap) driver; removed OuNao's dualtouch driver from kernel, but re-added as an optional kernel module. Framework: added new "madconfig" script to configure swap and dualtouch activation; various small fixes and hacks removed. This means you've the option whether to enable dual-touch or not to. Using Terminal Emulator : To check your status, #su #madconfig To select options : #su #madconfig dton (enable dual-touch) #madconfig dtoff (disable dual-touch) #madconfig swapon (enable swap) #madconfig swapoff (disable swap) #madconfig tweak (tweak drives for speed) Enjoy! QUOTE(alexysc @ Oct 6 2011, 02:14 AM) Another latest hotfix release : i installed hotfix 1 only. the contact need to delete 1 by 1. Hotfix 2 [5 October 2011]: Kernel: Bluetooth initialization fix; enabled compatibility with new basebands - you are now free to use any Froyo-based baseband with CyanogenMod. Framework: enhanced dual-touch compatibility (enabling/disabling dual-touch will now change the touchscreen permissions to the proper type). If you're using dual-touch, please re-enable via madconfig after installing this update. Added on October 6, 2011, 1:31 am If you are just using v.1.5 without hotfix, it's already enabled. You don't have to do anything else. To use the dual touch, open a website or a picture from your sdcard , 1) Touch the top-right of your screen. 2) Move your finger to the left side, downward left and then to downward right - anti-clock wise movement untill you see the zoom. You can zoom-in and out just by moving your fingers anywhere on the screen. All these movements using without releasing your finger. 3) To zoom back to original size, just tap the screen with your finger twice. If you have installed the hotfix 1 or 2, you need to enable it (see previous post for enabling) as these 2 hotfixes does not have dual touch enabled by default as it gives the option to enable it or not. For the contacts, you just have to go to the contacts and delete them. For all CM roms, they are all already rooted by default. Added on October 6, 2011, 1:33 am All CM7 roms are rooted by default. QUOTE(zam_changloon @ Oct 6 2011, 09:38 AM) If u use GO CONTACT (Currently has updated to new version Go Contact Ex) You can use Merge.. It will merge all duplicate contact either base on name or by. no. or by email... but u need to merge one by one.. there's no "select all" option.. thanks for the info. I will try it later. OR If you have back up your contact using other application (I'm using NetQin Antivirus to backup my contact), u can use BATCH DELETE to delete all ur contact then RESTORE back using ur contact backup.. Using NetQin, it will OVERWRITE previous backup data with the latest one.. Not like stock contact backup where it will duplicate everytime you backup.. If we backup 5 times, there will be 5 duplicates when we restore back.. Added on October 6, 2011, 8:42 am What's wrong actually? |
