Well it's quite clear that your understanding of shapes, forms and shadows have improved biggrin.gif And I suspect that your use of different pencils helped smile.gif

Also, would like to note that if you're using graphite pencils, 8B may turn out to be not quite as "dark" as you might want it to be, because graphite has a tendency to turn "shiny". If you really want a true matte black, you'll need a charcoal pencil smile.gif

oh really, but the 8B pencil is hard to handled because it works like a crayon...it is rough too,so I cant get to shade evenly, aand it is very dark...completely black. If u see from my WIP there,on the back of her head,I started to render the hair using 8B pencil, but then I was thinking "man this is not fine at all",so I change the pencil...so u can see the different in tone.
I dont really mind the shiny and stuff though.

I did start from drawing on paper, I really suck on it so I stop doing it, when I looking back to my old artworks, I was like 'eww.. what the hell did I done all these in my study' LOL.. I dont really like drawing on paper=.= and so I try to learn to draw on something else... then tried on pc.. wow I can feel my hand on pc! smile.gif

Ah, okay, the 8B IS a soft pencil. Great for shading large areas, and you can use for hair, actually, if you use light pressure and also know how to "pick" off the pigment with the harder H-grade pencils smile.gif Probably not so good for small-scale drawings, like what you're doing now biggrin.gif
