QUOTE(pokwang @ Apr 29 2012, 05:53 PM)
No, I mean where are those people you claim said that Chelsea did not park the bus against Barca. As far as I can see, nobody (Chelsea supporters or otherwise) said what you claim they said - that Chelsea didn't park the bus. Perhaps you can point me in the right direction?

BTW, since you didn't answer me last time, I'll ask again. According to you, did Chelsea park the bus in the 1st leg at SB, since they maintained the 4-5-1 formation throughout that match? If yes, are you suggesting that a 4-5-1 formation is parking the bus?
*
QUOTE
What is the point of this park the bus vs defensive tactic argument? What are you guys trying to achieve?

IMO park-the-bus is just another term of defensive tactic, it just carries more derogative term. That's why the term is a bit sensitive towards fans of clubs who employ the tactic, but ultimately there are more or less the same. Oh, there is also positive term for ultra-defensive tactic being coined around too nowadays. Remember the word 'pragmatic'? All these are just word play la.

It is certainly not about formation. For me, no matter if they employ 10-0-0, 4-6-0 or 4-5-1, as long as their system is set up just to stop opponents from playing, that can be considered ultra defensive, or bus/titanic/airbus parking tactics. Hence that was exactly what Chelsea employed.

Cant you guys just agree with that? That Chelsea was on the pitch just to stop Barca from playing? That they were ultra defensive? That they were being pragmatic? That they have the moon to be their GK?

Like neohardcore said, no matter what we say, in the end Chelsea won. So why bother arguing?

Finally people need to stop with this definition thing la. I've seen many such discussion here in Football Lounge. Definition of this and that la. Criteria on how to determine batter manager/player la. People need to understand that the criteria being put up are also OPINIONS i.e however correct that opinion may look, it is still an opinion, hence it can be both correct and false, until some empirical study is done on the issue. People need to accept that people have different opinions. Respect it, if you don't want to accept it!

i quote matyrs statement here.. n my thought is similar as him. if u ask me whether 4-5-1 formation is parking d bus, i'll say it subjective. how the team applying it during the match. the formation is ultra defensive no doubt, n the team playin that formation can choose to defend and counter, or just defend. judging on how chelsea was playin during the first leg, sorry to say n no offense, i dont c chelsea trying to attack at all, rather hoping for a mere luck n chance to counter attack. that is why chelsea stat is 1 shot on goal, n also a goal. so based on that i define it as parking the bus.. coz all the tym chelsea wat chelsea did was defending.. but honestly there r no specific definition for the term ''parking the bus''.

to make thing simple, u can compare how real madrid playin defence and counter wit chelsea.. madrid defend incredibly but when they counter, u can c even their backs r going up to support. but chelsea, no, they did do that, only 1-2 players going forward others remain firmly at the back.

lastly i wana say, was all this even matter? whats wrong for me or others that think chelsea did park d bus. it is subjective to everyone n how the want to put it. frankly i hate the way chelsea played against us.. i wishes for more open game.. but the strategy works for chelsea n they won. so just ignored wat we think bout chelsea formation, how they play, just go ahead n win the final.

QUOTE(99killer @ Apr 29 2012, 06:32 PM)
if park the bus is a term for defensive tactic, what is the name for BARCA attack?
total domination?
park the bus can also be defined as "do not attack at all (except counter attack), just defend for the whole 90 minutes"

QUOTE(katnl @ Apr 29 2012, 07:05 PM)
the first half was better. barca was really flat in the second half, bankrupt of ideas. something like what Pep is feeling now when he announced his resignation. they've reached the peak under him, now they need to accomplish it under a new manager, under a different style maybe.

never-ending ping pong is worse than it sounds.

i wont give any excuse for our team lost but the player more or less exhausted from el classico.. if only we hav more tym to rest the player. sad.gif

Could I know why do we need Song from Arsenal? For warming up our bench as replacement of Keita? We have enough or more midfielders now. Since Song still have 3 years contract left if Im not wrong, it will cost alot moneyflies.gif

myb to troll arsenal? hmm.gif biggrin.gif their fan mostly very anti barca.. btw im a bit concern bout this new season, seems all other teams in Europe power up kaw2... this year CL will be tough..

team that i think is very strong other than our arc rival RM, are PSG, Man City, Chelsea and so on.. too many powerful team this season.. i hope we r able to beat all of team if we meet them.

I watched until 20th minute then went to sleep. I thought it's gonna end draw but Messi just showed the world he can do anything he want within 4 minutes (76' & 80').
*
since u were sleeping i tell u the real story.. messi was lucky.. most of the time he is just "x jadi" in anything.. for the two goals he was in a right place at d right tym.. he was was playing to deep in the centre most of d tym and failed dribbling many tyms too.. i hope he and d team play better nex game.

Added on August 27, 2012, 9:36 amalso not to mention that we dont play possession like we normally do.. we dont hold the ball long enough nor creating more chances in front of goals..
