Owen Hargreaves fights back: The moving story of a gifted footballer's refusal to give up

Well, I sympathize him when I read this a few days ago but now NO. He chose to go to Citeh instead of West Ham or Spurs. I wouldn't mind if he goes to Arsenal either. But Citeh? Or Liverpool? A BIG no no to me.

If he does join Citeh, he's dead. I thank him for his contributions but once he dons the shitty colors, he's my enemy.

After all, we paid quite a sum for the past few years and the most he could make an appearance was like 5-6mins last season. Fans and staffs put so much effort and faith in him but this is how he repay us? Thanks but no thanks. Self claimed to love the club and all but going to Citeh. Yeah, right.

Someone needs a chill pill. You should put yourself in his shoes, you do not need to shift your entire life from 1 place to another, City prolly pays more than the rest and chances to win trophies are also much higher. In addition, he's no longer a 20 year old who needs to be playing every week to prove his worth. The world isn't all about footall you know. Footballers are humans and they have a life outside of football too. Welcome to the real world. In the end, footballing is just a job.
*
Oh hi. Butthurt much? Are you Hargreaves? laugh.gif

Someone does really a need chill pill. As I have said, I thank him for his contributions but he can't repay what fans and Fergie's faith by joining Citeh. Yes, footballing is just a job but for someone who claimed to love United, he should've known better. To make things worst, he is no stranger to England.

And if it's about money, why did he came out with that PLAY-FOR-FREE article? If he really does want to play, what is wrong with West Ham and Spurs?

LOL! looks like the 1 that's butthurt isn't me. I'm not the 1 that said "he's dead". So threatening, macam gangster only. Anyway, it's his choice to join whichever team he wants and it's your choice to hate on anyone/everyone. In the end, it's obvious you are a Man Utd fan and not an Owen Hargreaves fan. It's not like Owen Hargreaves is a Man Utd legend to begin with or he came up from the Academy.
*
Oh my, that was not even a threat.

For the record, I have been patiently waiting for his return to the first team while others had brushed him away. To say that I'm not a Hargreaves fan, man, you got that wrong. Rooney was scrutinized the same way when he made the same foolish request to Chelsea. I was very excited to see him feature in United's match last season and only to be sub 6mins later.

Now, the question is, you're saying I'm free to hate anyone I like, why the sudden defense of Owen Hargreaves? Sour? Or .. butt needs vaseline?

If you are a Hargreaves fan, you would support him no matter which team he is in. I too supported Hargreaves to return to the first team because I've always felt his free kicks were top class and he was a combative midfielder which MU have been lacking. You and your personal attacks are so juvenile. I'm purely stating the facts of life and not attacking you personally but apparently you took it personally so maybe you would like to go buy some vaseline for yourself.

I totally agree with SGSUser, who wouldn't want a chance to win trophies and we cannot deny that he has a better chance with City than with West Ham. In the end, it's SAF who let him go, not he who told SAF he didn't want to come back to MU but instead got to Man City.

Personal attacks? Oh wait. I just stated you butthurt because of my comments over Hargreaves. So, basically, you are offended about it. What juvenile and personal attacks? LOL.

I'm saying Hargreaves is ungrateful *******. United went through so much trouble to get him from Bayern Munich. Not only that, United paid for his wage for the past 3 years and he only played for almost a full season. Not to mention, all of the time and faith of fans in him returning inti action.

As much as I like Hargreaveas, I love United more. No one is bigger than the club. Except for Busby and Fergie. Beckham was given the boot, Ruud was given the boot and heck even Keano was given the boot.

What's the difference betweeb Hargreaves and those names? Go figure. For all that I care, Hargreaves can feck off if he joins Citeh.

I don't know what you are talking about. It's like you are asking me to look at the air and identify the hydrogen cells in there. It's easy to simply say that people don't get it when you didn't explain anything. Not "many" people. Go read some English primary school text books and come back.

QUOTE(ayanami_tard @ Aug 31 2011, 01:03 PM)
few of you guys are no different than man city/real madrid/barcelona/chelsea fans

he has been all his heart at OT,he joins and give his his 100% to United.you say that it's his fault he busted his knees and fails to recover? and you guys say shyt to people who did this just because he joins supposedly rivals? and you guys say "f**k off" to people like him?

you la fark off...you may gonna no club is bigger than a man but this club should never forget the deed that man done to the club.Hargreaves never nag United because of lack of playing time,he waits patiently even though he knows his chances is next to zero. you guys justifying Micheal Owen being booed by liverpool fans as reason to do the same? ask yourself la if you want to be degraded by the likes of said fans
*
If he truly loves the club then he should the simple logic of LOCAL RIVALS.

What? His chance is zero. In United, you will always have to fight for your playtime. Fergie and fans believed in him and even gave him an undeserved start last season. He lasted for 5-6mins and poof. Off the radar again. Wait patiently? Yeah .. right.

QUOTE(dzart @ Aug 31 2011, 01:10 PM)
Aiyo, hari raya pon mau argue ke..hehe

but, if hargo move to city also, will he get playing time? they already have plenty of good midfielder like yaya, de jong, milner, barry, nasri etc..if he want to play for england again, he should have move to other clubs where he will make an impact and get more playing time..

better chances of winning trophy? better go to kelantan..tongue.gif
*
I can agree to this.

Simple, Micheal Owen had to play a number of times to get that medal, last season. What do you think of Hargreaves' chances are? To be featured at least in 9 or 11 PL games?

Again, a chance to win title, like really? First thing is, to get fit and get some playtime. He wanted to play with the national team again. And he wouldn't get that chance if he joins Citeh which are packed with midfielders.

My last reply to you since you obviously don't understand where I'm coming from. How is Hargreaves ungrateful when it was Man Utd that let him go? It's not like he had a choice but to leave MU. He wasn't put in a position where he could choose MU or Man City and he chose Man City (like Tevez). He's a free agent after the club let him go, so I feel that saying he is ungrateful is unfair. They are all professional footballers. Does it mean that O'Shea and Wes Brown should each score an own goal for Man Utd when Sunderland plays Man Utd to prove they are faithful or grateful to SAF and the club?
*
Seriously dude, you are the one that don't understand.

Fergie kept him for seasons and believed in him. Fergie found out that he had to make way for new generation. Hargreaves knees are fecked(according to the reports which I do think it is more to mental state) for all the we know. Now, if you are Fergie, will you still keep him especially PL requires 25-man squad to be registered in every season? Or would you make way for new signings and maybe youngsters?

And talk about his choices, it's not Citeh is the only choice that he has. Weren't there reports of Spurs and West Ham chasing for his services?

Oh, about O'Shea and Brown, please read the first paragraph of this reply. Maybe you'll get some idea.

yup, his best position would be in between the midfield and the striker

Ando and Cleverley are getting better understanding between them now as we can see they will alternate with each other on def--att situation, that will only do good for us, so 3 midfield are not needed, at least for now
*
I could agree for now but facing big opponents and European games, we might need the third CM/DM. Hence, Fletcher or Carrick to come in.

Lol you've got an awesome memory. For the past couple of years,i vaguely remember us drawing in the few matches.
Exactly! I just hope some of the guys don't get restless on the bench. Its gonna be very tough for Valencia and Berba in particular to get matches. Nani and Young are playing superbly. I have to say,Young really looks like a world class player,he just seems to be loving this atmosphere of playing alongside world class players.

In attack,Rooney is a guaranteed starter for us. Hernandez and Berba both offer something different. Then we have Welbeck and Macheda.(and Owen, lolerz).

This 2 positions i.e. Winger and striker, will really cause Sir Alex some very positive kinds of headaches biggrin.gif
*
Could say the same about defenders tho. Evans, Smalling and Jones are performing so well that Rio and Vida need to convince the gaffer!

The twins will cause more headache if they're playing at the same time. Que that Arsenal match last season ..

I don't want he become like Hargreaves, hope he will heal fast.

I get what you mean but Hargreaves prob was far more superior.

Anyway, I don't see FA will punish Dalglish over his criticism on referees. As they did with SAF.
