QUOTE(cyclonez @ Aug 31 2011, 10:32 PM) Comment From Solari Didn't Benny slated Rafa and Liverpool after he went to Chelsea? Not sure if he has a grudge against Liverpool or just Rafa because we all know Rafa's man management skill is poor.Reports in Israel are saying that Yossi Benayoun is Liverpool-bound. from http://soccernet.espn.go.com/live/_/id/950...d-moves?cc=4716 duno true or not Benny's style of football will def suit the pass n' move philosophy in the current Liverpool team and as i recalled, he did quite well as a squad player during his tenure in Liverpool. I will welcome him with open arms. |

QUOTE(skyz @ Sep 1 2011, 07:55 AM) reina/doni Let's be honest. If I'm the opposing team, I won't worry about this midfield at all.johnson/kelly carra/coates agger/skrtel enrique/aurelio henderson/gerrard lucas/spearing adam/shelvey downing/maxi suarez/bellamy carroll/kuyt where should meireles be placed? get over it, he is just a surplus... Adam + Lucas pairing is our best bet now but what if one of them gets injured or suspended? Henderson, Spearing and Shelvey cant be consider established stars yet. Not after a couple of good games? Age is catching up with Gerrard, and fact of the matter is, we sometimes play better without him. Downing is performing excellently so far. but seriously, a bit gutted to lose Meireles to Chelsea...Don't the rent boyz know that they can only have 11 players o the pitch? |

QUOTE(hyperyouth_firepower @ Sep 1 2011, 08:38 AM) The Meireles news is shocking. I share your absolute outrage and disgust over this whole Meireles transfer saga. How come our big names kept on being poached by rival clubs? But a transfer request is a transfer request. And we sold him. We probably could get Sturridge but as usual a transfer request changes the game. Torres got sold. Benny got sold. Now, Meireles? Chelsea's got 3 ex-Redsmen. Blimey, eff me but them rent boys do really can splash the cash to buy out opposition. I mean I can understand if we poach star players from mid table clubs such as Sunderland and Everton but NOW we were made to look like mid table clubs by the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid and Barcelona by the exodus of our star players. On the contrary, i cant help but to throw up in gallons whenever i hear comments from players like Owen Hargreaves who claimed he will play of the scums for FREE...See how big the difference between us, Chelsea and Manure is when it comes to pulling power.? Is Liverpool no longer consider one of the European footballing force and the dream club they once were? Does Chelski's account book ever show a net profit? Does oil ever run out in Russia? God damn it. |

Mind you, the exodus of star players is a disease. It's viral.
It shows that the club doesn't not have the steely desire or the financial horsepower to hold on to its best players. Yes, you may say part of the reason is that the player doesn't want to play for the club anymore, but this may have caused by the inability of the club to bring in more star players. Exodus and influx of players has a symbiotic relationship. It's not like every club is cash rish like City or Chelski?.. Just look at Arsenal for case study. Who's next to go? Suarez? we gotta put an end to this disease... |

For 12m, I must admit that we handed Meireles over to Chelsea on a silver platter.
Why can't KD just reject the bid and wait for a couple of months. Just because he handed a transfer request, we have to get rid of him? Bad move bad move! |

QUOTE(aiyish @ Sep 1 2011, 11:46 AM) Guys, guys, no one is bigger than the club. Why keep a disgruntled player if the only he does is caused disharmony among the players. Good luck to him. We have British Steel on our side. Adam + Hendrson + Gerrard + Carroll. British steel? Never a fan of English players and never will. Overrated and overpaid. |

QUOTE(nando @ Sep 1 2011, 12:29 PM) i think KD already has a big name replacement for Raul.. To be honest, we are not that worried about Meireles departure. The real issue here that the conundrum here is that star players no longer want to play for Liverpool and this trend is very unsettling. We need to look at the bigger picture. and there's no need to wait for the transfer window.. heard this player can play a bit...led his club to CL glory few years back...took the team from jaw of defeat in the FA cup... he's got some good rest and looks hungry..i am sure he's eager to play and cant wait to be paired up with Adams, Lucas and provide services to people like Downing and Suarez... so, heads up mate... Then again, when u keep on buying unproven overrated English players for a ballooned fee it doesn't help that much either. I only fear that we may become the next Arsenal. |

QUOTE(visionary1993 @ Sep 1 2011, 12:46 PM) I dont know where you've been hiding but Arsenal became the next Liverpool after that 8-2. Not the other way round. I don't know exactly the point you are trying to bring to the table when you said Arsenal become like Liverpool after that 8-2 thrashing but I sure as hell know what I'm saying when I said Our optimism is on the all time high now but one 'big' star that went to chelsea yesterday and all these optimism came crashing down. What Gives? If a player wants transfer we'll give him one. We are no spurs keeping guys that obviously do not want to play for them.[U] "We may become the next Arsenal" as I was pointing to the fact that star players like Nasri and Cesc began to lose confidence at the club because the club wasn't spending their money wisely and investing on duds instead of proven quality players which eventually led to their departure. QUOTE(visionary1993 @ Sep 1 2011, 12:57 PM) Losing star players isnt the cause right here. Regardless of whatever REASON they left, does it really relevant that much in this discussion?Im sayin we already had our darkest days already gone past us long before this happens. I dont get star players losing confidence part. If you told me that a year ago then i would've agree. Torres went because he was frustrated with the management, Meireles went cause he couldnt get a place in the team. To compare these two woth Nasri and Fabregas is totally redudant given they all left for different reasons! The point is, they all left to join other teams because they figure they will have a better chance of winning silverware elsewhere but not in Liverpool. You think by moving to Chelsea, Meireles will get to start in more games than he was in Liverpool? Of course not, he will be benched just like another squad player just like how he was in Liverpool. But he certainly feel more comfortable and higher chance of winning having surrounded by more quality players around him. Why Nasri or Cesc's departure are deemed irrrelevant? They left Arsenal with the same thing in mind, to join a stronger army hence giving them a better chance of winning. So does Torres. Mind you , Mascherano joined Barca to warm their bench eventhough he was a starting 11 in Liverpool. Put yourself in Meireles's position, you have been offered a chance to move to a stronger team, will you take the plunge? I'm not alluding that we are not on par with Chelsea, but unless we start winning games consistently and silverware and able to KEEP HOLD of our good players, our players will continued to be poached by rivals without any loose change. QUOTE(nando @ Sep 1 2011, 01:35 PM) to be fair, we dont know the real reason Raul left.... If the allegations are true, certainly he has every right to be pissed knowing that the likes of Henderson is paid more than him.to be fair, he looked like a useful player under Kenny's pass and move football... and if he left simply because of one reason....because the club refused to increase his 35k weekly wages..then yes....i am a little disappointed..because i think he is worth it.... but if he wants to leave because he wants more first team football, or he like AVB or he thinks Chelsea can offer him a medal sooner than us, then there's nothing we can do. Look at the bright side.....Kenny has other players capable of providing good options too...so that's good news.. |

QUOTE(Luminous2 @ Sep 1 2011, 04:28 PM) Latest News: Chelsea has successfully bought 3 of Liverpool's player who scored against them in this two seasons. Right now they will not have to worry anymore in the future match against Liverpool. It's kinda sad the rent boyz didn't table a 50 mil bid for Bruno Cheyrou (the next Zidane, according to Houllier's prophecy) when he whacked home the winner in Stamford Bridge 7 seasons ago. |

That's all to it.as i said before, this case is different with lucas...at the time, lucas is the only available option at centre midfield....now we have kuyt ahead of henderson...he been scoring goal n doing well last season but miss his place to clueless henderson!wtfish! |

QUOTE(liverpool2020 @ Sep 24 2011, 11:48 PM) I agreed with u. Perhaps it's a bit tad too early to write off Liverpool's chances but I feel that Kenny's preferences on English players has been a major letdown so far.I think KD want majority British in the squad. but the problem is england players are not performing well such as henderspn, carroll Liverpool not going to win the EPL as due to KD selfish decision Football has gone global since his heydays of his managerial career and there are tons of good and 'economical' players to pick from worldwide instead of looking at home based players only. Plus they are so effin' overrated and overpriced. Still gutted that KD blew the big portion of our transfer kitty on Carroll and Henderson. He could have easily got his hand a few NON-ENGLISH "established" stars with that kinda money. If lowly Wolves can caused us that much trouble, imagine what a top rated team can inflict on us. Oh yea, i forgot Spurs thrashed us last week. Oh my oh my. I can only hope for the best for my beloved football club. |
