Didn't Benny slated Rafa and Liverpool after he went to Chelsea? Not sure if he has a grudge against Liverpool or just Rafa because we all know Rafa's man management skill is poor.

Benny's style of football will def suit the pass n' move philosophy in the current Liverpool team and as i recalled, he did quite well as a squad player during his tenure in Liverpool. I will welcome him with open arms.

I share your absolute outrage and disgust over this whole Meireles transfer saga. How come our big names kept on being poached by rival clubs?

I mean I can understand if we poach star players from mid table clubs such as Sunderland and Everton but NOW we were made to look like mid table clubs by the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid and Barcelona by the exodus of our star players.

On the contrary, i cant help but to throw up in gallons whenever i hear comments from players like Owen Hargreaves who claimed he will play of the scums for FREE...See how big the difference between us, Chelsea and Manure is when it comes to pulling power.?

Is Liverpool no longer consider one of the European footballing force and the dream club they once were?

Mind you, the exodus of star players is a disease. It's viral.

It shows that the club doesn't not have the steely desire or the financial horsepower to hold on to its best players.

Yes, you may say part of the reason is that the player doesn't want to play for the club anymore, but this may have caused by the inability of the club to bring in more star players. Exodus and influx of players has a symbiotic relationship. It's not like every club is cash rish like City or Chelski?..

Just look at Arsenal for case study. Who's next to go? Suarez? we gotta put an end to this disease...

For 12m, I must admit that we handed Meireles over to Chelsea on a silver platter.

Why can't KD just reject the bid and wait for a couple of months. Just because he handed a transfer request, we have to get rid of him? Bad move bad move!

British steel? Never a fan of English players and never will. Overrated and overpaid.

To be honest, we are not that worried about Meireles departure. The real issue here that the conundrum here is that star players no longer want to play for Liverpool and this trend is very unsettling. We need to look at the bigger picture.

Then again, when u keep on buying unproven overrated English players for a ballooned fee it doesn't help that much either.

I only fear that we may become the next Arsenal.

I don't know exactly the point you are trying to bring to the table when you said Arsenal become like Liverpool after that 8-2 thrashing but I sure as hell know what I'm saying when I said

"We may become the next Arsenal"

as I was pointing to the fact that star players like Nasri and Cesc began to lose confidence at the club because the club wasn't spending their money wisely and investing on duds instead of proven quality players which eventually led to their departure.

Regardless of whatever REASON they left, does it really relevant that much in this discussion?

The point is, they all left to join other teams because they figure they will have a better chance of winning silverware elsewhere but not in Liverpool.

You think by moving to Chelsea, Meireles will get to start in more games than he was in Liverpool? Of course not, he will be benched just like another squad player just like how he was in Liverpool. But he certainly feel more comfortable and higher chance of winning having surrounded by more quality players around him.

Why Nasri or Cesc's departure are deemed irrrelevant? They left Arsenal with the same thing in mind, to join a stronger army hence giving them a better chance of winning. So does Torres. Mind you , Mascherano joined Barca to warm their bench eventhough he was a starting 11 in Liverpool.

Put yourself in Meireles's position, you have been offered a chance to move to a stronger team, will you take the plunge? I'm not alluding that we are not on par with Chelsea, but unless we start winning games consistently and silverware and able to KEEP HOLD of our good players, our players will continued to be poached by rivals without any loose change.

If the allegations are true, certainly he has every right to be pissed knowing that the likes of Henderson is paid more than him.

It's kinda sad the rent boyz didn't table a 50 mil bid for Bruno Cheyrou (the next Zidane, according to Houllier's prophecy) when he whacked home the winner in Stamford Bridge 7 seasons ago.

Henderson is special because he's English. That's all to it.

Perhaps it's a bit tad too early to write off Liverpool's chances but I feel that Kenny's preferences on English players has been a major letdown so far.

Football has gone global since his heydays of his managerial career and there are tons of good and 'economical' players to pick from worldwide instead of looking at home based players only. Plus they are so effin' overrated and overpriced. Still gutted that KD blew the big portion of our transfer kitty on Carroll and Henderson. He could have easily got his hand a few NON-ENGLISH "established" stars with that kinda money.

If lowly Wolves can caused us that much trouble, imagine what a top rated team can inflict on us. Oh yea, i forgot Spurs thrashed us last week. Oh my oh my.
I can only hope for the best for my beloved football club.
