Crimson editor, UltraEdit, Crimson editor, Ultraedit......

Crimson editor - free, simple, ugly icon --> user posted image, a bit outdated (last built - sept 2004)
UltraEdit - 1337 features (like FTP, memory editing etc), not free, startup a bit slow.

My vote goes to UltraEdit since it's the "official" text-editor in my office, and very used to it already tongue.gif

how come tak ada Microsoft Word?
I voted for Microsoft Word - user friendly, compatibility .....but it's not free

Microsoft Word is word processor
Text editor doesn't allow you to do formatting, it just does plaintext editing with some syntax highlighting kind of things.

i prefer the GetDiz.

GetDiz looks more like a text viewer to me rather than text editor.

Notepad from microsoft is the best lerr

simple, easy, fast, no downloads. No fancy tools

It is indeed easy and fast
But not quite agree with "no fancy tools", IMO those features offered in advanced text editors are not considered fancy afterall but to speed up work and increase readability

While you perceive those features as fancy features, others might find it useful in doing their daily routines smile.gif

Just my RM0.02

How about Wordpad?
n00b question tongue.gif

Word pad is a simple Word Processor, it shouldn't be considered as Text Editor IMO
