Is there some new reserve requirement coming up? |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Sep 29 2011, 10:20 AM) Starting this Saturday 1st October and until 31st October, SCB if offering 5% interest for up to 3 months for new and existing e$aver account. From what I gather from the ad in The Star, the 5% inte4erst is for months of October, November and December. To maintain minimum RM3000 for 3 months. click below link to see ad. So if you like only open the e$aver account on 31st October 2011, you'll only get 5% for two months. is the interest credited monthly? can't seem to find this info.http://mystar.my/ads/ad.aspx?id=0dc8ba6f-c...78-8df2845fb471 |

QUOTE(ronnie @ Sep 29 2011, 11:06 PM) I'm definitely treating it as FD.... can we decline ATM card and Debit card for the account? Whats' IBG?Not sure if SCB can waive the RM8/year ATM card fees..... Transfer the money out is also an issue. SCB charge 50sen per IBG (max RM9999) Make sure we close the eSaver account after 3 months or pay RM20 (for early account closure) I thought if close account then can get a Bankers Cheque? QUOTE(ronnie @ Sep 30 2011, 11:41 AM) The T&C for the SCB 5% p.a. offer is at http://www.standardchartered.com.my/person...rpromo/tnc.html thanks.I asked the Bank Officer 1. we DO NOT NEED to get the ATM Debit Card 2. we need to top-up at least RM3000 per month (Nov & Dec) to be eligible for further 5% Bonus Payment in those months (Nov & Dec) 3. Better to open the eSaver account on 1 Oct 2011 But the terms only say must maintain at least RM3,000 in the account and not top-up. QUOTE 8. New Customers 8.1 For New Customers, Bonus Payments will be paid on the ADB in their Promotion Accounts during the Bonus Period. 8.2 To be eligible for Bonus Payments in any month of the Bonus Period: (a) a New Customer must have an ADB of at least RM3,000 in their Promotion Accounts during the Promotion Period. Customers who do not satisfy that minimum ADB criteria will not be eligible for any Bonus Payments in that account even if they achieve a higher ADB in later months; and (b) the ADB in the Promotion Account in that month must also be at least RM3,000. |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Oct 6 2011, 12:52 PM) Today opened SCB e$aver account. what is the charge to send by RENTAS?If you are totally new to SCB, you can deposit by chq and the interest calculation will start from the date of chq deposit. If you are existing customer, then interest calculation will start from the date of chq clearance. I don't have any account with SCB but from their system, I'm recognized as existing SCB customer probably due to old closed account. I opened the e$aver account with zero balance then RENTAS the fund over from other bank. More worth it to RENTAS if the deposit amount is more than 50K. For RM10K, the different between interest reinvest or direct credit to SA is too insignificant. Just go for the 3.8% FD. |
