by right, regardless of eFD or FD, the interest rate will be based on the very moment you open the FD account. therefore, let say you open the FD account at that time where the interest rate is 3.5% per annum, regardless how it rise of drop during/at the maturity period/date, it'll be still 3.5% (according to the interest rate when you open the account)

Now FD rate has increased from 2.5% to 2.75% effectively today.

Usually I put 90% of my saving in FD, it maybe lower interest but then again, when I need money, I can withdraw anytime.

I've checked Public Bank and CIMB website, 12 months FD only returns 2.6% interest.

1 thing I don't really get it.

Why does certain banks offer 2.75% (since FD has been increased by 0.25%) but other banks just offer 2.6%? This applicable to 12 months FD, i mean.

so the bank which offer lower interest won't need to pay more interest to people who apply FD for 12 months?

just to confirm tat..FD for 1mth rate is 2.25% PA.. means tat u have to take 2.25% divide to 12mths then only u got the figure of 1mth interest for ur FD total amount..:S kinda small like a sand..

yes, that's the calculation.
