Hi wondering if any bankers know............if i have a FD at auto renewal...and

I don't update it or check it for a long time.

BUT..........I have a savings account wif ATM with the bank and I keep using that.

Since I am still attached to the bank but never update the FD will they send the FD to "consolidation fund" if after 5 yrs.

Historically speaking anybody know how long they will take then increase their interest rate?

Alliance Bank has 3 different rates for conventional FD on its website:

Counter Rate (% p.a.)
2nd Tier Rate (% p.a.)(for Individual)
2nd Tier Rate (% p.a.)(for non Individual)

WTA what is the difference.

WTA if I uplift my FD on day of maturity, do I get penalty?

I.e. mature 17/5/2011 and I go bank and uplift.

Guys, U may want to check out this little known thing - MBSB owned by EPF (er.. havent checked in a while whether still is or not). Their FDs are usually higher than "normal" banks.

Is it protected by PIDM?

On another note. is it worth it to put 6 months FD, will interest rate hike again soon?

As a reader, I am glad gerrardling brought up the "insurance" thing and forumers for correcting him. I also rclxub.gif when come to insurance savings schemes.

There was a salesman in UOB Bank promoting to me the Bijak Malaysia insurance scheme, me nearly bought it thinking it was better than FD.
