Quick question:

Last night while I was playing a game (say Rouge Galaxy), the game started to lag and the DVD tray inside the PS2 starts to sound like a scratched vinyil player. I thought it was a scratch problem and checked the DVD, but the DVD was clean of scratches. Seeming it was odd, I tried to restart the PS2.

But then, the same noise starts again and it starts to read 'Please put a PS2 DVD' at the startup. I resetted a few times without the DVD this time and the scratching sound comes out again.

Kindly advise.

@snipersnake: Fat PS2, laid flat. Does it matter? Cause I've been placing it like that for 5 years...and it never made a sound like that

Tried with dvd9 and original PS2 dvd...sometimes can read and sometimes it doesn't...I'm more concerned with the noise...

Okay...if its the lens...is it gonna cost alot..?

Had it checked it and it was not only the lens but also the tray, so its gonna cost more than 300+

Decided to get a new PS2 instead....

Might keep the PS2 instead, since it has sentimental values to me that lasted 7 years. Thanks for the offer though.
