15 MARCH 08
FRIENDLY MATCH: NAZA RUGBY CLUB: 0 - POLITEKNIK KULIM: 33

A STRAIGHT 3/3 LOST  mad.gif . IT'S BEEN A TUFF JOB FOR ME SINCE MY MANAGEMENT ASKED ME TO HANDLE THIS CLUB.
JUST IMAGINE 70% OF MY RUGBY PLAYERS NEVER BEEN REVEALED TO THIS KINDA GAME, SUDDENLY I NEED TO BRING THEM TO THIS SPORT. YEAH, THEY HAVE SPIRIT BUT THEY LACK OF 'ANGIN'. JUST ONCE A WEEK TRAINING. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT WEAKNESS THAT I COULD SPOT DURING LAST MATCH WAS THE BACKLINERS BLURRED WHILE HOLDING BALL. CAN YOU GUYS PLEASE ENLIGHT ME HOW IN THE WORLD I COULD TRAIN THEM TO DO WHAT THEY 'SHOULD DO' AFTER BALL OFF FROM SCRUM HALF? MAYBE OUR 'TEORA BRO.' CAN POUR SOME ADVISE... CHEERS!  brows.gif

NEXT MATCH: 29 MARCH 08 - NAZA RUGBY CLUB VS POLITEKNIK PAUH, PERLIS.

my 2 sen, just stick to the simple stuff.......pass, run straight, then pass.

I remember the training routine is to have the backs line up in a diagonal. Then the scrumhalf will tap the ball and pass to the flyhalf. Run a few metres, pass, the inside centre run, pass, etc until you reach the winger. The winger should then setup a ruck, hopefully the flankers will have reached there (which they should) then you repeat the drill passing along the backs going the other way. It helps to have a real flyer at both wings. At my school, the wingers are usually Nigerians and they fly!

Anyway, i really miss playing rugby but i watch the Tri-Nations every year.

Added on May 21, 2008, 12:37 pmHere is my pride and joy, a ball autographed by Eric Rush, captain of the NZ 7's team. He signed it at the 1998 Commonwealth Games and he was sitting next to me watching the matches!

I have another ball signed by Chester Williams too.
