Let's be realistic guys. If SS can deliver HT quality, they deserve to charge HT price.
Won't you rather they use the best possible material and quality for this item and charged you more for it or keep it cheap but then it will not look good with your soon to come HT Star Wars collection. |

From the looks of the pics, this SS Boba Fett is right up there in HT quality. There is even buzz that this is actually made by HT but marketed under SS name.
At least I am sure the body is developed by HT. The rest, we will wait and see. I think if this has a HT label on it, no one will complain about the price at all. |

QUOTE(maul @ Sep 16 2011, 02:12 PM) I doubt the body is by hottoys as those trooper's joints are horrible. Where is it stated Hottoys did the body? I don't know what is their contribution as I can't see any part is of hot toys quality. I would have thought it was a well known fact by now that the SS trooper bodies were designed by HT. Noticed the HT logo under your trooper box? (thought some of them don't have it for some reason)One mistake you make is equating bad QC with bad design. The body itself was very well designed by HT. Just that the early batch has loose joints like the early prometheus. Current troppers are all very solid. Not as solid as a truetype but much better than those TTL body. |

QUOTE(William7 @ Sep 17 2011, 02:02 AM) or maybe sideshow collaborate with sideshow to put the Hot Toys logo on the box to make it more sellable... anything in the company P&C we dont know so maybe its jsut on the surface to increase sales =) heheh SS already publicly admitted that the troopers bodies were by HT when they were first revealed. Common knowledge at the sideshow forums. |

QUOTE(HenryLow @ Sep 17 2011, 09:48 AM) how early consider early batch??? I noticed they have been pretty decent since last year. which consider current troopers??? 501st, blackhole, elite 41st, captain rex, clone sgt, commander cody all consider current troopers??? and all loose joints... i cant find any of them with VERY SOLID joints yet... maybe mine very old batch gua... Then again, I guess everyone expectation of a solid joint is different. I did say they are not as solid as HT but they don't flop around either. Of course I won't discount the fact that SS QC can be erratic so I guess luck has a lot to do with it. |

They have really pushed the envelope with this figure. Two years ago, I was so sure they will never make this figure because the market is not big enough for HT to justify producing this (back then).
Now, the market for 1/6 is bigger than ever and I dare say we are at a dawn of a new era for action figures. This is indeed the era of HT and we can only expect to see more and more amazing products from them. |

Better get in now at POP price. One year later this price is going to look like a bargain.

QUOTE(BeastX @ Sep 23 2011, 10:44 AM) I was referring to the MGS.For HT product, they will always be someone cheaper no matter how low XL-Shop goes. Added on September 23, 2011, 12:37 pm QUOTE(gtasaboss @ Sep 23 2011, 12:21 PM) Iron monger's coming out and still no alien queen. Funny how things goes with mcfarlane made a poseable figure of the alien queen but didnt release a power loader and HT released a poseable power loader figure and no alien queen figure. Probably market interest for it is not high enough now to justify such an expensive figure. I mean in 1/6 scale, this thing is actually going to be bigger than the Iron Monger and then everyone will be whining why it costs rm2k.This post has been edited by noisetrigger: Sep 23 2011, 12:37 PM |

A lot of stuff is cheaper in Singapore due to their much stronger currency, strong buyer power of the people there and a lower import tax.
Iphone, Macs, LED TVs, cameras, PS3, (and being foreigners we can get GST exemption) basically I can't find anything that I could get cheaper in Malaysia with the exception of pirated stuff. We are king here in that department. Even ayam is cheaper and of much higher quality there. Action City is also a major retailer and distributor in Singapore. A certain chain of shops here are only small fry compared to them. Also, I think a few store might have underestimate the cost for this item. As of now, no one knows the size of the box. So shipping cost calculation is based on an estimation of what the box size might be. There is a possibility some shops might have to raise the price later because the box is way bigger than estimated. This has happened to Batmobile, Godfther, etc... |

QUOTE(BeastX @ Sep 27 2011, 07:05 PM) Fuel... yes... foreign cars.. both are expensive... but certainly Malaysia is Higher, higest tax rate in ASEAN if not Asia. I beg to differ, same car, taking into account foreign exchange, Singapore is actually more expensive. Maybe not all cars but certainly a lot of cars more expensive there. |
