i don't think it will affect the performance though unless the gravity is strong enough to affect the spinning work inside the cd or hdd This post has been edited by E-J@1: Dec 3 2006, 02:36 PM

okay la ur cable management, not too mesy, but u still can do better than that, just buy lots, lots & lots of cable tie, and tie up the cable at the 5" bay drive making into one big fat cacing, then u can hide it, see a lot of space u can hide it |

QUOTE(r4ydc24 @ Jan 9 2007, 01:44 PM) E-J@1: hair dryer n tonnes of patience already tried using hairdryer, but it didn't shrink, dunno maybe i didn't heat it long enough, btw, will it shrink even for an hour i heat it up the heatshrink? i only tried for 2 minutes, got fed up & use the kitchen's stove, damn it melt the plastic thingy a bit Doom: tried using lighter but direct burnt heat is not frenly to some heatshrink... end up wif sum burnt marks.. thus, been using hairdruer ever since.. p/s: my sifu taught me to sleeve using soldering gun.... industrial heatshrink can tolerate dat but Vantec's heatshrink can't.. |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jan 10 2007, 11:55 AM) itll work but itll look like shit coz the sleeves will fray. thats why its recommended to use heatshrinks to give that much cleaner and neater look. what if i burn the tip of sleeve a bit, will it fray too? i want to use the cable tie on those PATA 2 SATA Converter, one of the power cable end connects to the PATA Header but what i did was i use cable tie and put heatshrink OVER the cable tie. i used the cable tie to make sure the sleeves and shrink doesnt move around. |

QUOTE(Doom @ Jan 12 2007, 12:39 AM) that's a pata to sata connector ??? yup, those are PATA to SATA Connector & it is Gigabyte product, well actually it is a OEM Product from Gigabyte, that's why u can't find this selling at shops first time seen such cable... in addition its product of Gigabyte some more ... why there is molex connector also ??? the converter got 2 molex connector: 1. Male Molex = connect to PSU 2. Female Molex = connect to HDD or ODD (which i'm currently using it on = no more fat ide cable now back to topic, already use this almost 1 year, got bored & decided to sleeve the power connector, having trouble to heatshrink the power that one end connected to the PATA Header, any ideas how? all i can think of is to cable tied it This post has been edited by E-J@1: Jan 12 2007, 06:47 PM |

QUOTE(Doom @ Jan 13 2007, 01:33 PM) can u unfold the cable for better view of each connector ?? can't la, don't have digital camera, those pics i got from the previous bulk where i bought em kind of hard to suggest with the photo shown now ... i can give u a hint to imagine it, from the PATA header got 2 wire coming out from it: 1. SATA Data Connector 2. Molex Power Connector The SATA Data Conector got two ends where: 1. Connects to PATA Header 2. Connects to SATA Header at Mobo The molex power connector got three ends where: 1. Connects to PATA Header 2. Connects to HDD/ODD Male Power inlet 3. Connects to PSU female molex inlet hopefully that give u better to imagine it |

QUOTE(ianho @ Jan 22 2007, 10:21 PM) QUOTE(HughieRmX @ Jan 22 2007, 10:18 PM) Guyz, I was wondering one thing .. normally we are able to hide most of the cables when we are using a closed casing. How about acrylic casing ? Are we able to conduct a good cable management in there ? I came across a few users but then its still like a mess in there don't even think u can hide a cable in ur acrylic case, cause it can be seen in every corner Anyone can share some pictures about it ? Regards, Hughie but hey, let me tell u my idea long time ago... u know those 5" LCD Temp Monitor, they only require little space at the front, leaving lots of space at the back, so what u can do is make a box out of acrylic with a size of two 5" bay drive, paint it black or any other color u like as long it's not transparent any more... tied up all those lose cable into one big fat cacing, hide those cacing in there & place em at 5" bay (make sure those box have screw hole on em)... u can make a good use for that box instead just plain dumb box by placing those character LCD and temperature sensor bracket in front, like Allngap did ![]() ![]() ![]() @ Allngap, let me borrow some of ur pics, if can't, PM me & i'll remove it at once |
