anyway, i cleaned the base with Articlean 1 and 2 and i did not encounter the ghastly patches of evil you did. id post the pics but im having stability *issues* with the system. i have reason to suspect its the mobo. [stop smirking you nvidia fanboys. i still wont buy an NF4 ]

edit: oh yeah, and the NB HS fitting is very tight, just 1/4" clearance.
again, i have pics, but like i say, im having *issues*.

its cheap. thats its trump card. mediocre price, resonable performance and noise.

yeah, the xfx is just a beauty. i expected a green PCB but it came in black. other nice touches include the 'backbone' at the side, coloured in black as well. the black extends to the backplate, where the DVI connectors are nvidia-green. really nice stuff.

oh, and the box would make any X-men fan proud. XfX's signature X-shape is really eXtraordinary. i counted 4 'X'es

im on both cards, music with the 0404 and HL2:DM with the audigy [the connectors are as loose as the teeth on an >80 year old person ].

i took a pic without them. it looks cleaner this way, i took another one with, but like i said, im still having *issues* that i need to solve

random restarts. i think i kinda *fixed* it by reapplying the thermal paste that i F'ed. time will tell

yeah, i had to install the A2ZS drivers before i install the 0404. [windows /heh]

btw, here is how it looks in final:



not as nice as without the foam, but after the sidepanel goes on i cant see them and i get a 60% reduction in noise, so its worth it


edit: oh, and had i not spend all my cash on audio stuff [gigaworks, 0404, aegoM] i would be having myself a 7-EIGHT-00 already

forgive me for being blunt, but your comp [especially the mobo ] is not 'humble' at all

as for the cable management, ive just as many hardware as you [bar the 6800GT's external power connector].

i regret not taking DFI boards seriously in the past. the one i was working with yesterday had a certain 'charm' i never felt since i sold the IC7max3 from Abit. lovely touches all over. i must now PM an extremely helpful chap about my sins of not seeing the light he was shining in

edit: oh, and did i mention im starting to hate ASUS? i think im going to lump ASUS into the wave of hatred i have for MSI

well, you certainly can do better. first of all, those USB/firewire extentions should be kept unless you really need them. if you really DO need them, put them to the lowest slot. that should ease alot of the eye sore

secondly, as SeLrAhC mentioned: the sata cables. you can do what i did to by tucking them to the 'other' side [pics on the top of the page]. currently, they just look like onion rings!

apart from that, just a little here and a little there and you'd be all set

btw, how is the accelero? does it bend your gcard at all? i heard it isnt very heavy, but im still curious.

and i miss those fat boy PC6xs. theyre just so wide and long, look at the bloody internal spacing....

i think what you can do is you can use cable ties or whatever to tie it to the holes beneath the CDROM area., on your mobo's side. i suppose you dont need cable ties, but i like to use them because you can force the big and subborn ATX cables into place
