QUOTE(bb100 @ May 30 2012, 06:09 PM) Hi there. May I know the difference between Public series of funds and PB series of funds? I plan to invest in PB Growth Fund (PBGF). Is it a good idea? Different sales channel. PB series need to buy from Public Bank staffs/agents. Public series from PM UTC.

QUOTE(bb100 @ May 30 2012, 10:30 PM) Thanks for your reply! So do you mean that the returns for both investments are similar? Service charge is the same. Return depends on fund performance. Some said that certain PB series fund outperforms Public series.

QUOTE(Awakened_Angel @ Jun 3 2012, 03:54 PM) anyone bought this PUBLIC NATURAL RESOURCES EQUITY FUND?? Am interested as am familiar with the raw material market e.g. steel, copper, etc but saw the prospectus, they invested 20% ++ of the fund in Lynas Corp :\ Commodities have been down for more than 20% from the peak. With USD index hits all time high, commodities won't be attractive due to its denomination in USD which make them more expensive.

QUOTE(j.passing.by @ Jun 3 2012, 10:42 PM) Am doubtful that asset allocation can be 20% ++ on one entity... you can check the asset allocation in the year-end reports. From the year-end report Nov. 2011, no distribution, -19.49 returns. http://www.publicmutual.com.my/OurProducts...EquityFund.aspxhttp://www.publicmutual.com.my/LinkClick.a...3M%3d&tabid=250That's could prove the recent retreat of 20% from highest peak. Surprisingly, gold went up 4% last Friday in US trading.

QUOTE(j.passing.by @ Jul 1 2012, 11:07 AM) Are you trying to start a debate whether distribution increases the NAV of the fund? Please don't... just ended one over at the other thread. But a good distribution does shows that the fund is showing returns for the year... if you have been holding it for some time like a year or more... it's so much more exciting than holding a dead fund that shows negative returns. Added on July 1, 2012, 11:42 amAgree on that not every fund is giving returns. So to balance the news, below are the year-end 30/June PB funds that are not on the distribution list: PB Singapore Advantage-30 Equity Fund PB China Asean Equity Fund PB Asia Equity Fund PB Euro Pacific Equity Fund Those funds distribution policy is not annual and they're not committed to declare it unless they're performing extreme well and have excess cash that they don't have idea where to invest too which I highly doubt that given current world economic situation.

QUOTE(Seremban_2 @ Jul 21 2012, 03:58 PM) My consultant ask me to buy this fund and every month DDI. Later 3 yrs check back this performance and it is dissapointing. Got stuck. I imagine those who bought at ealier stage. Starting price 0.25 to compare now. I was one of those who bought at high. Luckily I have switched to PSMALLCAP to cut loss. Net loss still high even though PSMALLCAP did provide positive return since I switched out from PCSF.

QUOTE(Seremban_2 @ Jul 21 2012, 04:08 PM) Unbearable pain and emotional dissapointment with this investment after checking it. It is making a 4 digit lost and 2k++. If I switch, it will lost in capital depreciation and sales commission. I'm not sure about you. But I rather switch into a better performing aggressive fund in order to cut loss or break even at least. For me, on that day I switched out, PCSF is at loss of RM 981.26. Now, for my PSMALLCAP, I have a paper gain of RM 268.21 (as of Friday posted NAV). Make your own judgement and don't rely too much on your UTC. Not flaming them but ultimately, the decision is still on you!
