Guys, what is your opinion about Public China Australia Equity Fund? I wanted to lump sum Rm1k for Public China Select Fund today in Public bank, but the banker told me not to, instead he suggested this fund for me.
*
At first I was considering this fund but ended up bought the similar fund from CIMB as PM is charging high on service charge.

Sorry PM UT agent. Not trying to kill your business at here. notworthy.gif

1st promotion was 2%. Then, 1.5%. Now revert back to standard 2.5%.

yup indeed is crazily high. 5.5%. and when invested the 'wrong' period, it really takes some time to recoup the service charge. there are many other Unit trust agents out there, like fundsupermart, at times, promotional 1%.

PCSF? forget bout it, shitty fund, till up to today

currently, i'm slowly converting my equities to bonds
*
I'm no longer holding PCSF. Has switched to PSMALLCAP with a return of about 4.5% (including switching fee) but still cannot fully cover losses from PCSF.

It is because of their holdings. They may have bought it during high time before or nearly the financial crisis outburst.

On top of that, some unitholders may have withdrawn earlier to cut loss and fund has fork out money for repurchase.

If I have CIMB online saving account...can i buy from there?
This standard 2.5% apply to all equities fund or newly launched fund only?
*
You have to open a UT account in CIMBClicks. After that, you can buy fund from CIMBClicks by deducting from CIMB saving account.

I guess so since I have tried to validate some of the equity funds; 1 from AmInvestment and 1 from HwangDBS.

You cannot compare PRSF and PSBF. One is equity and one is bond fund.

Huh? If he switched from equity to bond, the units are loaded. So when loaded units are switched from bond to equity again, there shouldn't be a 5.5% charge anymore, just switching fee. No?
*
Yes. Only low-loaded unit will be charged. Loaded units will not be charged.

So bro, do you think it is a good time to buy?
*
Bond fund doesn't really have very close correlation with share market or equity.

Bond fund is low risk investment.

Islamic fund is only investing in Shahriah compliant investment vehicles. Generally more stable and less volatile.

But still have some risk right? So some people still go for FD, FD 3% only. Bonds usually give 7% profit,
*
Please don't compare bond fund with FD.

FD is a SAVING while bond fund is an INVESTMENT! Please get it right first.

In investment, everything has risk. No risk, no pain. High risk, high return.

But the fund got limited investment opportunity since they oni can buy shariah compliant securities
*
I don't see that as a very big constraint or limitation to Islamic funds.

Susuk has become pretty attractive for recent years.
